The outlook is not good, with the possibility of cold soil lasting until May or June instead of Jan or Feb, crop failures can be expected. In short, we are at the front edge of an oncoming Ice-age.
Thank the hubris and unfettered greed of the corporate and government psychopaths. The death knell for a large part of life on earth has sounded.

No I wouldn't jump straight in and say anyone was to blame why does everything have to have someone to blame cant weather poetterns and cycles be natural he says the gulf loop is broken the link i show is from 03 to present it doesnt show much difference in 7 years the gulf loop link is last december and this december and theyre pretty much the same so why say bp is to blame i didnt say a ice age was triggered ice ages my point is there doesn't have to be an oil spill to hane an ice age
The weather is bizarre. Food Prices are up. That Obami & Sons i.e. British Petroleum slewed life on earth thru blinding greed for the very few .....hmhmhmhm.....all that oil....what? 80% of it still sloshing about the Gulf , just under the surface , waiting to be harvested from the corpses rotting around it.........hmhmhmhm....food for thought.......... that the evil fools do not see the wood for the trees......all carbon illusions by the way......sooooo blinded by greed that they $%^&* the food-chain......well i guess it's ...."let them eat oil".
ps dear Marie herself was a victim of a mini-ice age and poor harvest!
...that it is currently well above freezing here in the UK and all the snow has melted here in the SE. Hopefully it stays that way!
You do realize National Geographic did a report on the slowing of the Jet Stream/Gulf Stream back in September of 2009, a bit before the spill. I think your tin foil hat is pulled on your head just a bit too tight.
You're complete and utter MORON.
Life is interconnected throughout. Nothing is not a part of something else.
We are all responsible for the mess we find ourselves in. We therefore have to stop the blame game and make sure our individual parts add up to a healthy whole.
That some have more impact on the whole than others is merely a fact, outside of it being a travesty against our own species and the rest.
Our individual anger and collective fury is OK as an immediate response but utterly counter productive on an ongoing basis. Its energy is best spent on positive responses of repairing the damage.
Mother Earth always listens to her children even if they are sometimes petulant. Let us constructively recreate the world we desire - not one where we renege our power to those whose selfish acts corrupt it.
Have you spent the bucks you were saving for a new house on a solar system for the existing house?
Do you grow a garden and eat what you grow?
Do you buy local?
Do you run the water the entire time you're in the shower?
Do you walk or ride a bus?
Have you taken the time to study science so you actually know how you effect the environment?
Have you participated in politics so you have a chance to make a difference? Do you research your candidates?
Betcha haven't.
Bet ya don't.
The last time this happened ie Gulf Stream failed, it was called the Loch Lomond re-advance when meltwater from the melting ice cap temporarily stopped the advancing Gulf stream establishment at the end of the last Ice Age and the ice sheets and glaciers in Scotland re-advanced until the Gulf stream re-established itself. The temperature of the water in the Atlanic is measured as is salinity, somebody somewhere has the data to confirm or deny the hypothesis by Lord Stirling......... My hypothesis is that this is happening again, the melting ice cap through global warming, has begun to make the North Atlantic Drift, to give it its proper name, fail again. Temperature and salinity data of the North Atlantic will reveal further support for this.
Please note that this guy never tells you how an oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico effects the temperature of any portion of the hydrosphere. He merely tells you that it is the cause. This is rubbish.
Please note that the spill in the Gulf of Mexico was not the largest spill, not the only large spill in the loop current, and we have never experienced any measurable climate effect let alone an ice age.
There have been fears of the gulf stream shift as long as there has been evidence for our HEATING atmosphere. This doesn't happen over night.
...and you read about it here on SOTT many moons ago. It is time to pray, indeed.
I would just like to say that the oil spill by itself probably would not have caused all that damage. There is evidence that other changes on - and off the planet - are taking place right now. The Sun spots have diminished to a very large extent. The planet itself appears to be changing causing an increase in volcanism - the rotation is slowing slightly, the axis is shifting. It may even be expanding. Not to mention the changes to its magnetic field.
All of those things acting in unison are causing what's happening, in my opinion. While the actions of BP were absolutely appalling and harmful to the planet, we must not lose sight of the bigger picture. That's because other calamities may be upon us as well.
And what if the whole solar system is entering a totally strange sector of space? What if that sector is filled with cometary debris and other weird stuff? And what if all that debris begins to fall upon our heads? Suddenly, the Ice Age may not be the biggest of our problems.
Look up in the sky - the fireballs, the strange lights - all of it is beginning to make an "awful" lot of sense, does it not?
I hope this is all rubbish, but I am seriously worried that the knows his stuff and is speaking the truth and that this may happen
