Six UFO sightings have been reported across Milton Keynes in one night.

Families and neighbours stood in the streets and stared up in amazement as orange, red and yellow lights flew through the sky above the city on Sunday.

Between 11.10pm and 11.30pm a total of six calls were made to police by people who reported seeing the unusual objects speeding overhead.

The first sighting was from a resident in Woughton-On-The- Green who reported seeing a red light in the sky, moving quickly and without a sound.

A police spokesman said: "We received six calls on Sunday night but no one knows what they are.

"We have not sent any police out to them because there is not a lot they can do."

The next caller reported seeing 'orange things' flying through the air past his house.

There were four reports from Monkston alone, where one caller described the unidentified flying objects as 'little round-shaped orange things'.

Others said they were 'orange globes' and 'orange fireballs'.

At Lilleshall Avenue in Monkston one resident reported seeing strange lights flying across the sky, traveling in exactly the same line and at extremely high speeds.

The caller said that families and neighbours were lining the street and were sure the objects were not a plane or fireworks.

Finally, at 11.30pm a caller from Bletchley reported about 20 bright lights flying in formation overhead.

Theories which have not been ruled out include hi-tech aircraft from Cranfield Airport, stray Chinese lanterns from a celebration in Bletchley or alien visitors.
