The coordination center established after the earthquake in Adana was completed in 10 years. The center, which is worth $30 million, monitors 13,500 stations.

Turkcell started a coordination center project to remove the problems that emerge in disaster and crisis situations after the earthquake in Adana in 1998.

The main base of the coordination center is located in Maltepe, Istanbul and the center detects any disorders and corrects it. The control center monitors a total of 13,500 base stations all over Turkey for 24 hours. Mobile stations are available in case of disasters such as an earthquake.

Ilter Terzioğlu, the assistant manager in charge of Turkcell network operations, stated: "the network has been busy since the last earthquake. The data of operations is evaluated by the control center. After the last earthquake in Marmara, the information about earthquakes is transmitted to the personnel and the busy call traffic was handled in half an hour."
