The owner of a small German computer company has struck a blow for smokers' rights.

The manager of a 10-person IT company in Buesum, says he fired three workers who requested a non-smoking environment, as their non-smoking was causing disruptions.

Germany introduced non-smoking rules in pubs and restaurants this month but people in small offices are still allowed to smoke.

The manager says his staff are on the phone all the time and it is just easier to work while smoking.
