As most of you know me through my ramblings in the enigmatic world of UFOs, spirit beings, religion and my personal encounters with MIBS, and the world of the paranormal, let me introduce my first meeting with the TV show, Unsolved Mysteries.

Yes, I was involved with them. From trying to find someone who I was told died (my fiancée) but was missing to a case of a UFO landing in Portsmouth, New Hampshire in the early 1980s. Many do not know that if you gave them a case that was aired on the show they gave you an Unsolved Mysteries hat.

The case that they investigated was the one where a UFO landed on The Pease Air Force Base in the 1960s.*

But what was to follow was the attempt to deny any and all public knowledge of the landing and the poltergeist activity that occurred in and around the base.

As I mentioned in another article in John Fullers book Incident At Exeter* a UfO landed near the officers quarters where the officers families lived. Then as I have stated mysterious warts appeared on my body. I lived within the area of the landing, about 5 miles as the crow flies. But that landing, given to MUFON state director to investigate, was squashed when he found out about the object landing on the roof of my apartment building, where I lived on the top floor.

But what was not told was that the only thing that separated the walk to my apartment was a fence - the fence that separated the ball field of the Portsmouth High School from the apartment complex. If you stood on the roof of the building where I lived in you could see for miles. You could see the air base! But also there were marks on the ball field from the landed object. Again I was told to "stay away" from the landing site! No investigation was ever done on it. Unsolved Mysteries knew about that. This was the same town where Betty and Barney Hill lived in!

When the television program contacted MUFON New Hampshire, they were told there was nothing to it. Even though I had pictures of the marks on my roof and of the marks on the field. They both coincided. But as things go...nothing was done about anything and wonder why?

On my desk sits the hat. All in black with purple mysteries with Unsolved in small white lettering over the mysteries. It sits there as an inspiration to the, why, does the New Hampshire Director of Investigation of MUFON try to tell the national headquarters I was sloppy in my investigations when he would send no one out to confirm my claims.

Has any one ever gone out to confirm Paul Speras claims? No. Now here is some one who has videos and pictures of UFOS about 100 yards from his humble abode. Not one NH investigator has ever done that. I tried to do that but Director of Investigations would send no one, why? Talk about an unsolved mystery...that is one of the biggest mysteries of all. I do not believe that the National Headquarters of MUFON knew anything about this nor do I blame them for sloppy work by one of their state directors.

As Jim Marrs wrote to me in a personal note, "The TRUTH" is not out there, it is in each of us." Why a State MUFON Director would not want to investigate a case of a UFO flying within 100 yards of a camcorder and its unexplained air maneuvers is perhaps the biggest unsolved mystery of all!

Art Champoux has been an UFO investigator since 1964. He has worked with Ray Fowler, Walter Webb, John Keel, a lady that he can not name, and several different UFO groups. In the 1960s he was with APRO, CAPER, NIACP, then when APRO went out he was with NICAP and then APRO, Now he is with MUFON. The world of the paranormal has always fascinated him as even as a small boy he had some eerie happenings. His Great grandmother was a spirit medium so maybe he has inherited something. He is a hypnotist and has written for several publications and his leanings are much like John Keels. He beleives there is an ultra force, not from outer space, but much like John's and even Jaques Vallees' contention...we are but one dimension out of many that reign on this planet.
