I was playing with settings (both on my computer amazon account interface, and on the kindle) - and there was a thing you could check that said something like "I don't want my highlighted stuff to be sent to amazon" - something of that nature. Not that I'd trust them anyway ... I don't trust any information connected to the internet as being secure ... but still worth a try. I do the ebooks just occasionally - but still a paperback reader for the most part.
