The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement early this morning. They warn that light winds and and low level precipitation will work together to create heavy fog throughout the New York City area.

Visibilities of below one mile are expected this morning, creating dangerous conditions for drivers.

Alternate side of the street parking rules are back in effect for the first time since January 20, which will make the commute even more difficult for New Yorkers as they have a hard time finding parking spots.

Rains and light snow are expected this morning, which may create icy conditions for both drivers and pedestrians. High winds will remain for most of the day but the precipitation is expected to stop by late morning.

The city's Building Department is asking home owners to take precautions today and tie down any items that might fly off in the wind. The same warning has been issued for construction site owners.

Furthermore, temperatures are expected to drop throughout the day. By 3 p.m., temperatures are expected to dip below freezing. The highest temperatures have already happened.

By tomorrow, the high temperature is expected to be only 30 degrees.

For now, they are no weather-related delays reported by the MTA for this morning's commute.
