Alastair Campbell - former tabloid trash peddler, bully, psychophant and Tony Blair's 'Director of Communications and Strategy', that is to say, chief spin doctor and liar. Campbell was personally responsible for molding and selling the lies to the public leading up to the Iraq invasion that has, to date, caused the deaths of over 2 million Iraqi citizens. He is also arguably the man who played the central role in the murder of Dr David Kelly.
So, have you ever seen a psychopath attempt to appear "distressed"? Have a look.
One of the seldom discussed traits of human nature, is that the most neurotic and dysfunctional humans are the only ones with the most drive and ambition to ascend to high levels of public importance. This applies to politicians, actors and other public figures.
Their neurosis drives them to seek out a world-wide platform to play out their mental illness. The more neurotic they are, generally the more famous they are.
I have worked in the entertainment field with people such as Madonna and Janet Jackson... and trust me, they are all complete and utter train-wrecks.
It's no surprise that this is the sort of people that end up guiding society.
@troublemaker.
Psychopaths are quickly found out in a balanced society where people are social and have to depend on each other for survival. How? They are the ones wanting the most for doing the least. This society rewards psychopaths. Then the psychopaths reward the psychopaths. And that's how things end up like this. It's self selecting (like the boy-groping clergymen, or gay men in prominent positions and showbusiness..or child porn rings).
On being famous and being a trainwreck. People are connected like an underground system of rivers. Just like water they flow in a certain direction determined by the terrain and certain spots where they can congregate. People bounce energy towards each other, some people give you energy and others take it away. You can sense/feel that and we even use the same terms. Popstars and people performing in front of a crowd are almost sucked dry from their own spirits but at the same time are charged with the energy of the crowd, a foreign energy which needs to be channeled and used the right way. The latter is very hard since to accommodate all that energy you have to enlarge your vessel...which then has to be filled with your own when all the foreign energy is gone. It is this; your a fine mazed vessel with tiny holes seeping/sipping energy during the day. You eat, laugh a bit, sleep and do other positive things and you get replenished. Or you're angry, get laughed at, or eat bad food and you loose some. But your fine maze vessel will only seep/sip just enough for you so a few good things or bad won't burst it or suck it dry. Popstars and the like who can't balance their energy have a large vessel with large wholes. They have large of positive (mostly foreign) energy to give but loose it fairly quickly ..and what's left is a large hard to fill (with their own energy) big holed vessel.
Some cities are described as energetic, some as dreamy or boring and so on. Well, what you feel is the energy of the people.
Okay, to summarize my little story. We live in a society with psychopathic rules. We feel that. Since it is behavior that is rewarded we see a lot of it (but not all of them are real psychopaths).
In typical psychopath fashion it's all of a sudden about him and how he suffered.
What a sick puppy.

BADLY PUT QUESTION
They should have asked Alastair, "if there is no evidence in the intelligence information of any WMD, then how did Tony Blair come to that conclusion and from where did he get his information?"
By the way, it is not good enough to say, "George Bush told me so."
The people of Britain did not deserve to send their lads to a foreign country where they would be killed in the process of making enemies.
To your request of my opinion of the manner in which a newspaper should be conducted so as to be most useful, I should answer, 'by restraining it to true facts and sound principles only.' Yet I fear such a paper would find few subscribers. It is a melancholy truth, that a suppression of the press could not more completely deprive the nation of its benefits, than is done by its abandoned prostitution to falsehood. Nothing can now be believed which is seen in a newspaper. Truth itself becomes suspicious by being put into that polluted vehicle. I will add that the man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them; inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors. He who reads nothing will still learn the great facts, and the details are all false.
