Don't Panic! Lighten Up!
Costing just over $1 apiece, the pirated DVDs appear to be of the actual movie, complete with a picture of the hero in a new, black spider suit which he wears for some of the film.
There is even a warning on the back, printed in Chinese, against pirating the product.
But put the one bought on Tuesday in the machine, and it does not work -- a common problem with Chinese-made DVDs, which are often made with poor equipment in dingy backrooms.
Early pirated copies of Hollywood blockbusters are sometimes filmed in cinemas and viewers can see people walking in front of the screen or hear members of the audience coughing. Other DVDs show totally different films to what may be advertised on the cover. China has been riled by U.S. complaints to the World Trade Organisation that it is not doing enough to tackle piracy, such as the billions lost each year by Hollywood to copyright pirates.
The government says it does take the problem seriously, but faces a multitude of problems such as convincing the man on the street not to buy fakes.
"It's too expensive to go to the cinema to watch movies," said Beijing resident Duan Nana. "This has a lot to do with why people are rushing to buy fake DVDs and watch movies at home. It's very common and it's logical."
"Spider-Man 3" debuts in U.S. theatres on May 4 with the original cast of Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst and James Franco reprising their roles.
The movie had its world premiere in Tokyo earlier this month.

Happy New Year ... May it be a jab free one
Happy New Year my friend, forever jabless!
Jabless in Jew world. Now there’s a film
I’ve been looking into getting one of them CB radios
Going to have to start trying to find a job - I've been putting it off for as long as possible, I'm dreading the thought of having to work and dealing with people
I’m really worried about you now I think it’s the almighty Omicron 🤣 I think you maybe doomed my friend
Haha
I know what you mean man. I’m currently working the system but I have the money to take a specific test but I’m really worried that if I pay 1400 quid for the test then they say ya need to get
It’s really stressful actually. I obviously need the money but do I go all in or not? I’m playing the waiting game if I’m honest.
Do you live alone? I do. It’s a blessing as I don’t need to worry about anyone in my immediate hemisphere.
I’m hoping to get to a protest when I get paid. Be great if you were free to do the same man, let me know if you ever go to one of them 🙂
My flatmates has to test himself a lot so that he is cleared for work ... seems like a bug as he has similar symptoms but no positive tests
Nothing that hot water with honey, lemon and whisky wont sort out
It's a tough one as I worked from home the last 5 years, I don't want to commute, can't be wearing a mask for more that 15 minutes, wont get jabbed .... and really too old to have to pander to some employer
That's a bummer about the test fees and not knowing whether a job is only available to Muggles
I've actually never been to a protest
I’m registered disabled, with all the mental health craziness and how everyone has to except everyone blah blah I’ve played on that exact system. When I lost my job I went to the jobcentre and basically told them a yarn about meltdowns and feelings of homosexuality and boom I’m on 800 a month. I only have to pay 64 quid a month rent.
At first I felt horrible and guilty for doing it cos I thought I was conning the working class… but then I realised that the government is going all out to screw the working class. They are stopping me from making an honest living man.
I’m only doing this because my government caused me to lose my job.
So now I’m waiting. Forever it seems.
And if you ever want to go to a protest then let me know. I’ll go with you mate
