A journalist who has reported extensively on late financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein's notorious New Mexico ranch says she is "fleeing the country," claiming she was the victim of a "direct energy weapons" attack over her coverage.

Alisa Valdes-Rodriguez, a former Boston Globe and Los Angeles Times reporter who later became a bestselling novelist, said she abruptly abandoned her New Mexico residence after suffering what she described as symptoms consistent with "Havana syndrome."
"It appears my home has been located by, well, whomever is unhappy about my reporting about Zorro Ranch and the local cover up here and the military intelligence roots of the child sex trafficking operation Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell were running here in New Mexico," Valdes-Rodriguez wrote last week on her Substack.

Years ago, I wrote a column denouncing the decision of the University of California system to drop standardized testing in the cause of greater racial diversity. Now, hundreds of UC mathematics faculty have called for a return to such testing after reports showing a thirtyfold increase in students with math skills below high school level.

As written earlier, the University of California system was an early supporter of this disastrous move. It was heralded as a way to preserve diversity after voters in California repeatedly rejected race-based admissions and the Supreme Court appeared ready to bar such practices (commonly proven with reference to standardized test differentials among applicants).

Now, many professors in the California system have come to the same conclusion as some of us who denounced the move years ago. They have witnessed the drop in academic skills and abilities among incoming students.

These tests not only have the most significant predictive value for performance but also play an important role in the advancement of minority students. Former University of California President Janet Napolitano, however, overrode those conclusions.

Polls in Israel have shown time and time again that the Jewish Israeli public has become more radical and explicitly expansionist and genocidal over time, with polls similarly showing that younger Jewish Israelis are more radical and genocidal than the older generation.

Among American Jews, however, polls show the exact opposite, showing that younger American Jews are rejecting Zionism and the genocide in Gaza.

This trend is underscored in a new poll by the Jewish Voter Resource Center, which found that 44 percent- nearly half- of American Jews under the age of 35 support the full dismantlement of the Israeli occupation of Palestine, supporting a single democratic state with equal rights in historic Palestine.

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk's communication satellite network made it possible for Ukraine to carry out the recent deadly drone strike on a Lugansk college dormitory, Russian Parliament Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said on Tuesday.

Last week, three waves of Ukrainian kamikaze drones struck the Starobelsk Professional College's main building and living quarters, killing 21 people, who were mostly teenage girls, and injuring 60 others.

Speaking in the State Duma, Volodin condemned the attack as a "crime against humanity."

"We must do everything we can to hold to account those who gave the orders, and who directed [the drone strike] at the college," he said.

"This is a question for those companies, American ones, that allow the Kiev regime to use their satellite constellation. Elon Musk must understand that his satellites are being used to murder children," the top MP added.

Non-whites are set to become the majority for the first time in the US by 2050, a situation mirrored in up to 16 states — including New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, according to new census data.

The expected transformation reflects astonishing demographic changes projected to sweep across America by between 2040 and 2050, fueled by international and internal migration, as well as falling birthrates, the US Census Bureau figures show.

In 1980, the US was 80% white, but that figure is expected to drop to 47% by 2050 and 44% by 2060.

At the state level, some of the shifts are even more striking.

In 2000, just three states — California, Hawaii and New Mexico — had less than a 50% white population.

Food stamps and food pantries are intended to keep struggling Americans fed. What we found is that, in some communities, that food never reaches an American table. Instead, it gets shipped overseas and sold for profit.

The scheme works like this. Residents in cities like Lawrence, Massachusetts collect food through two channels: purchasing it at local markets using EBT cards, and picking it up for free from food banks and churches. That food is then packed into large blue barrels, dropped off at shipping companies, and sent by container ship to the Dominican Republic. Once it arrives, it is sold for profit in local stores. The people doing this see nothing wrong with it. In many cases, they do it openly.

According to a local that assisted us with this story, this fraud has been happening for over a decade.

Over the course of several weeks, Muckraker Foundation traced the full pipeline from food pantry lines in Lawrence, Massachusetts, through shipping warehouses in New York, to store shelves in Santo Domingo. This is what we found.

The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact is advancing quickly among Democrats, but the Constitution itself has the tools for defeating it.

Advancing the latest "progressive" scheme to upend our Constitution and make the people serve the government, Governor Abigail Spanberger has signed a bill forcing Virginia to join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact (NPVIC). This ruse to overturn the Electoral College, a critical safeguard that ensures equal presidential representation for all Americans, is now just 48 votes away from national implementation.

The coalition seeks to force the presidential selection to be decided by popular vote alone. This would favor Democrats in two important ways, which is why Spanberger has speedily signed on. First, controlling the vote in America's most densely populated cities would be a near-guaranteed national victory. Replete with Tammany Hall-style power dynamics and political horse-trading, these cities are already Democrat strongholds.

Europe could face a critical shortfall in natural gas stocks if shipping disruptions through the Strait of Hormuz persist for another 1-3 months, senior executives at Norwegian energy giant, Equinor ASA (NYSE:EQNR), have warned. Europe entered the current summer refill season with severely depleted gas reserves, with gas stores only 28% full following a prolonged winter. Europe's storage levels are currently at 35-37%, significantly below the 50% seasonal norm, increasing the risk that the continent will miss its usual 90% target at the beginning of the next winter heating season. The European Union requires member states to maintain robust storage fill levels, typically targeting an 80% to 90% capacity by early winter. A combination of factors has made filling Europe's largest storage hubs a daunting task heading into the latter half of the year.

Comment: Oil prices keep rising as Iran dims US hope for a deal:
Oil prices turned to a gain Friday after Iran poured cold water on growing market hopes for a near-term agreement with the United States, reminding traders yet again that optimism around diplomacy and reality on the ground are not always moving in the same direction.

Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman said Friday that Tehran could not necessarily say an agreement was close, according to Tasnim. The comments followed days of mixed messaging from both sides and reinforced a pattern oil traders know well by now: markets rally on diplomatic headlines, then spend the next day trying to determine whether anything actually changed.

A senior Iranian source had earlier told Reuters that some gaps had narrowed, but no agreement had been reached. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio also pointed to "some good signs" while making clear that any Iranian effort to restrict movement through the Strait of Hormuz would remain a red line.

Six weeks into the ceasefire, traders appear reluctant to price in major diplomatic progress unless they see some more definitive proof. While markets repeatedly move on headlines, they do tend to snap back once optimism outruns reality.

The stakes remain enormous. Physical oil markets are tightening, inventories continue falling, and elevated fuel prices are feeding broader inflation concerns across major economies.

Adding another layer of anxiety, ADNOC's chief executive warned this week that full oil flows through Hormuz may not return until at least early 2027, even if hostilities ended immediately.

In an emailed statement to NTD, Bass' campaign called the complaint 'completely false' and argued there were two locations filmed in the video and the sites were more than 200 feet apart, with no signs outside the ballot box.

Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt and Mayor Karen Bass escalated their campaign feud on Wednesday amid accusations of election law violations.

Pratt filed a formal complaint against Bass for allegedly violating election laws after Bass shared a video thanking a group of people for their support and reminding them to vote. According to Pratt, Bass approached supporters on May 25 near a polling place and dropbox location.

"Electioneering within 100 feet of a ballot box is AGAINST THE LAW," Pratt wrote on X. "Soliciting votes at a ballot box is AGAINST THE LAW. These clear violations show a reckless disregard for the rule of law and our democratic process. Someone in a position of power should be especially respectful of our democratic laws, but this is just emblematic of Karen's mafia-like regime. It's 'rules for thee, but not for me.'"

A Texas mom is suing the cops who arrested her for warning on social media how her town's dirty drinking water has "hospitalized" citizens.

Jennifer Combs, of Trinidad, was tossed in jail earlier this month as alleged political retaliation for posting about the "serious" public health concern on Facebook — a possible freedom of speech violation, according to FOX 4.

"It was probably one of the most humiliating things I've ever gone through in my entire life. It was very, very bad," she told the outlet.

Combs called her May 8 arrest for felony false alarm or report is "an extreme stretch" — considering even the city's mayor, Dennis Haws, has admitted that residents are plagued by disgusting brown-and-yellow tap water "issues."
