It is being projected there could be an "eight billion meal shortage" at America's food banks over next 12 months

food bank line
In 2020, we are witnessing an explosion of hunger in the United States that is unlike anything that we have seen since the Great Depression of the 1930s. Tens of millions of Americans have lost their jobs since the start of this pandemic, and money is running low for a whole lot of people. In fact, I just wrote an article about a survey that found that one out of every five Americans will be out of cash by Election Day. More Americans are slipping into poverty with each passing month, and this has created an unprecedented surge of demand at food banks across the nation. Meanwhile, our growing economic problems are also causing donations to dry up, and so many food banks are facing a major crunch as we head into 2021. In fact, Feeding America is warning that their network of food banks is potentially facing an "eight billion meal shortage" over the next 12 months...
Feeding America, the nation's largest food-relief organization, is warning of a six billion to eight billion meal shortage over the next 12 months, which could leave millions of Americans hungry amid the pandemic.

The dire shortage comes as tens of millions of Americans have turned to local food banks for help amid the pandemic-triggered surge in unemployment and food insecurity.

Johnson & Johnson pauses COVID-19 vaccine trials over participant's 'unexplained illness'

COVID-19 vaccine
Johnson & Johnson has paused its late stage clinical trials for a COVID-19 vaccine because of an "unexplained" illness in one of the participants, the company said Monday.

It said in a news release that the trial was paused while the study's independent Data Safety Monitoring Board conducted a review and evaluation of the participant's condition.

"Adverse events โ€” illnesses, accidents, etc. โ€” even those that are serious, are an expected part of any clinical study, especially large studies."

The company noted the "significant distinction" between a study pause and a regulatory hold, explaining that a pause is not unexpected in vaccine trials.

Comment: Same goes for Eli Lilly's monoclonal antibody treatment.

'Suffocating': French women forced to wear MASKS during CHILDBIRTH

Hospitals in France are requiring expectant mothers to wear face masks during childbirth, allegedly causing complications during labor. Now an activist group is leading a wave of angry backlash over the practice.

The anti-masked-birth campaigners and some doctors say that mothers are finding themselves unnecessarily stressed out and having trouble breathing, which can lead to weakness and an inability to push during labor.

There have been multiple instances of hospital staff threatening to refuse medical service to maskless women reported in the French media. Some mothers have revealed that they were forced to keep their face masks on even when they were struggling to breathe while giving birth.

Trump senior adviser: Polls have 'massive oversampling of Democrats'

Presidential Poll and Map

President Trump's senior campaign advisor Steve Cortes on Monday said that national polls don't decide elections and look better for Democratic nominee Joe Biden because of an oversampling of Democratic voters.

Speaking on Fox News's Bill Hemmer Reports, Cortes said:
"I think polls matter. We pay some attention to them. It's very critical to look at the inputs into these polls because the inputs often determine the final output numbers. And many of these polls โ€” I haven't looked at this one yet specifically, but many of these polls have massive oversampling of Democrats."
In the segment, Hemmer referred to a recent Washington Post-ABC News poll that showed Biden with a 12-point lead over Trump. The survey had a sample size of 1,014 adults with a margin of error of 3.5 percentage points. Among those who participated in the poll, 30 percent identified as Democrat, 27 percent identified as Republican and 35 percent identified as independent.

Comment: So 8% were unidentified.

Best of the Web: The plot against America and its Constitution

historic monuments
© Michael DeMocker/Getty Images)In the Western world, the past has become the target of an ideological crusade. Many of its historic monuments and symbols are being vandalised, defaced or destroyed altogether. Pictured: The vandalised statue of educator Sophie Bell Wright, whose father served in the Confederate Army, on July 10, 2020 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
It seems that this election is not just about which candidate gets elected -- it is ultimately about America's commitment to empirical facts, its extraordinary Constitution and its determination to maintain its leadership role in the world by refusing to allow cheating and corruption, in either its elections or its governmental institutions. One can only hope that the ideals of the Founding Founders will prevail.

From Europe, the culture war raging in the United States is disturbing. In the presidential election, it seems that radical anti-American forces are questioning the very foundation on which Western civilisation was built. The New York Times seems too similar to the propaganda we were fed by the Hungarian Stalinist Pravda during the days of communist tyranny.

Contaminating the Past

In the Western world, the past has become the target of an ideological crusade. Many of its historic monuments and symbols are being vandalised, defaced or destroyed altogether. In the United States, the national flag has been treated with derision and denounced by leading members of its cultural institutions as a symbol of racism, oppression and discrimination. Commentators have been regularly condemning their nation's past and portraying it as a source of irredeemable shame.

The fascist antismoking crusade rides on: Smokers may be forced to get prescription for cigarettes as part of plan to stop Aussies smoking forever

Smokers
Smokers could be forced to get their cigarettes from pharmacies using a prescription under a new plan from anti smoking advocates.

The hardline proposal is part of a university's plan to end smoking forever, and includes cutting off cigarette sales permanently to anyone born after a certain date.

Associate Professor Coral Gartner, from the University of Queensland's Centre for Research Excellence on Achieving the Tobacco Endgame (CREATE), says smoking may never be outlawed but there must be an 'endgame' goal to permanently reduce the use of tobacco which causes nearly 'one in seven deaths' in Australia and is responsible for 'nine percent of the disease burden'.

Cult

SOTT Focus: The Covidian Cult

sheep with masks
One of the hallmarks of totalitarianism is mass conformity to a psychotic official narrative. Not a regular official narrative, like the "Cold War" or the "War on Terror" narratives. A totally delusional official narrative that has little or no connection to reality and that is contradicted by a preponderance of facts.

Nazism and Stalinism are the classic examples, but the phenomenon is better observed in cults and other sub-cultural societal groups. Numerous examples will spring to mind: the Manson family, Jim Jones' People's Temple, the Church of Scientology, Heavens Gate, etc., each with its own psychotic official narrative: Helter Skelter, Christian Communism, Xenu and the Galactic Confederacy, and so on.

Looking in from the dominant culture (or back through time in the case of the Nazis), the delusional nature of these official narratives is glaringly obvious to most rational people. What many people fail to understand is that to those who fall prey to them (whether individual cult members or entire totalitarian societies) such narratives do not register as psychotic. On the contrary, they feel entirely normal. Everything in their social "reality" reifies and reaffirms the narrative, and anything that challenges or contradicts it is perceived as an existential threat.

These narratives are invariably paranoid, portraying the cult as threatened or persecuted by an evil enemy or antagonistic force which only unquestioning conformity to the cult's ideology can save its members from. It makes little difference whether this antagonist is mainstream culture, body thetans, counter-revolutionaries, Jews, or a virus. The point is not the identity of the enemy. The point is the atmosphere of paranoia and hysteria the official narrative generates, which keeps the cult members (or the society) compliant.

Conservative shot and killed by NBC News affiliate's security guard at 'Patriot Rally' in Denver - UPDATE: Shooter didn't have security guard license

denver shooting
A shooting in Denver on Saturday afternoon at a โ€œBLM-Antifa Soup Driveโ€ has left a conservative demonstrator dead, whom police say was shot and killed by a security guard hired by NBC News affiliate 9NEWS.
This story has been updated to reflect new information from the Denver Police that indicates the shooter is believed to be private security for a local television station. Initial reporting from the Denver Post stated that the shooter was a left-wing activist.

A shooting in Denver on Saturday afternoon at a "BLM-Antifa Soup Drive" has left a conservative demonstrator dead, whom police say was shot and killed by a security guard hired by NBC News affiliate 9NEWS.

The shooting, which was caught on multiple livestreams and shared on social media, involved a man participating in what was billed as a "Patriot Rally" of conservative Trump supporters. The rally was organized by John Tiegen, a right-wing social media figure. Conservatives carried banners that mocked communism and chanted slogans in support of the police.

Comment: According to CBS Denver the shooter, Matthew Dolloff, was not licensed to be a security guard. He wasn't working for Pinkerton:
Private security guard, Matthew Dolloff, was contracted through a third-party firm by Pinkerton, but was not an actual employee, the company clarified in a statement, cited by 9NEWS. Pinkerton did not disclose the name of Dolloff's regular employer. "The agent in question is not a Pinkerton employee. Pinkerton is fully cooperating with law enforcement authorities in their investigation of this matter," the statement says as quoted.

Dolloff, 30, was contracted to protect 9NEWS staff, an NBC-affiliated television station in Denver, Colorado, as the station covered rivaling Black Lives Matter and "Patriot Muster" demonstrations in the city on Saturday. The security guard is accused of shooting and killing US Navy veteran Lee Keltner after a brief altercation with the conservative protester. Dolloff was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder.
A social media post from 4 years ago suggests he may have had a history of confronting conservatives.

With over a million deaths, there are now countless people who know someone to have passed away from Covid-19. For one Russian family, mourning was followed by a shock, after their 'dead' relative turned out to be very much alive.

In the tiny Siberian village of Shabanovo, around 3,000km east of Moscow, an elderly pensioner was laid to rest in a closed coffin, after being hospitalized with coronavirus. Just a week later, the family received a call from the man's nursing home with news that their dead relative was, in fact, still living - and they had buried a different man.

According to the nursing home's acting director, Savely Sarbadakov, two elderly residents were diagnosed with Covid-19, their identities were mixed up when one passed away.
