Fake news curated by the Deep State: Government spin doctors control the news cycle

Propaganda

"We Americans are the ultimate innocents. We are forever desperate to believe that this time the government is telling us the truth." — Former New York Times reporter Sydney Schanberg
Let's talk about fake news stories, shall we?

There's the garden variety fake news that is not really "news" so much as it is titillating, tabloid-worthy material peddled by anyone with a Twitter account, a Facebook page and an active imagination. These stories run the gamut from the ridiculous and the obviously click-baity to the satirical and politically manipulative.

Anyone with an ounce of sense and access to the Internet should be able to ferret out the truth and lies in these stories with some basic research. That these stories flourish is largely owing to the general gullibility, laziness and media illiteracy of the general public, which through its learned compliance rarely questions, challenges or confronts.

Then there's the more devious kind of news stories circulated by one of the biggest propagators of fake news: the U.S. government.

In the midst of the government and corporate media's carefully curated apoplexy over fake news, you won't hear much about the government's own role in producing, planting and peddling propaganda-driven fake news — often with the help of the corporate news media — because that's not how the game works.

Why?

Because the powers-that-be don't want us skeptical of the government's message or its corporate accomplices in the mainstream media. They don't want us to be more discerning when it comes to what information we digest online. They just want us to be leery of independent or alternative news sources while trusting them — and their corporate colleagues — to vet the news for us.

Indeed, in recent years, Facebook and Google have conveniently appointed themselves the arbiters of truth on the internet in order to screen out what is blatantly false, spam or click-baity.

Not only does this establish a dangerous precedent for all-out censorship by corporate entities known for colluding with the government but it's also a slick sleight-of-hand maneuver that diverts attention from what we should really be talking about: the fact that the government has grown dangerously out-of-control, all the while the so-called mainstream news media, which is supposed to act as a bulwark against government propaganda, has instead become the mouthpiece of the world's largest corporation — the U.S. government.

SOTT Focus: NewsReal: Trump Says 'US Dead' as Regime Indicts Him

Turns out Trump wasn't wrong when he said, two weeks ago, "they're coming after me..." But the regime can't seriously believe that he will go to prison over a payment he made to a (literal) whore 7 years ago, can they?!

Also on this NewsReal, Joe & Niall look back on a week that included:

A mass shooting at a school in Nashville by a crazed 'transgender' woman; the filing of bi-partisan legislation (the 'Restrict Act') that would block Americans from accessing information from 'unapproved sources' (upon pain of 20 years' imprisonment); notable developments in the ongoing 'de-dollarization' of international trade; the US piling pressure on Pakistan to 'terminate' its democratically-elected leader Imran Khan; the US VP's 'charm offensive' tour of African states; what looks like another US State Department color revolution (in Israel of all places!); and a daunting report on the falling average age of life expectancy in the US.

It's ugly stuff, but that's what happens at the End of Empire...

Estonian diplomat expelled from Moscow in tit-for-tat move

Kremlin
© Gettyimages.ruIt is noted that following the beginning of Russia's special military operation, the Kiev regime abandoned any attempts to "create the appearance of maintaining law and order and observing human rights in the country"
Russia is expelling an Estonian diplomat from Moscow in a tit for tat move following a similar action by Tallinn, Estonia's foreign ministry said Friday.

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry had summoned Estonia's charge d'affaires, who heads the European Union country's mission in Moscow, to protest the expulsion this month of a Russian diplomat in Estonia and announce that an Estonian diplomat must leave Moscow.

The Russian ministry warned that Moscow will also take other retaliatory action in response to the "persistently provocative anti-Russian actions by the Estonian authorities."

Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman and Algeria announced a voluntary reduction in oil production by about 1.071 million barrels per day, while Russia announced a voluntary reduction in oil production by 500,000 barrels per day, Saudi-owned Al-Arabiya reported on 2 April.

An official source in the Saudi Ministry of Energy stated that the Kingdom will reduce its crude oil production by 500,000 barrels per day (bpd), starting from May until the end of 2023, in coordination with a number of countries participating in the declaration of cooperation between OPEC and non-OPEC countries (OPEC+).

The source in the Ministry of Energy confirmed that this is a precautionary measure aimed at supporting stability in oil markets.

Comment: The measure may be intended to stabilise oil markets, but another effect will be that the West will struggle to replenish their rapidly dwindling stocks.

A private contractor installed microphones inside the Ecuadorian Embassy in London where the WikiLeaks co-founder lived, an El Pais investigation has found

The CIA used private Spanish security company UC Global to secretly install microphones inside the Ecuadorian Embassy in London to monitor WikiLeaks co-founder Julian Assange, El Pais reported on Wednesday, citing the company's internal communications.

UC Global was hired to provide security for the embassy. Assange, who was granted asylum by Ecuador at the time, resided in the diplomatic compound from 2012 to 2019, before he was forcibly removed by British police. The Spanish company's alleged links to US intelligence agencies were first reported by El Pais in 2019.

Comment: El Pais has done yeoman work in its investigation of the CIA's persecution of Assange:

Desperate Ray Epps enlists notorious Dem-Clinton operatives to threaten Tucker and Revolver News for J6 reporting

The curious case of Ray Epps stands as the most conspicuous and damning thorn in the side of the Regime's official narrative of the January 6 Fedsurrection.

It is fair to say if it hadn't been for the intrepid reporting of Tucker Carlson and Revolver News (if the reader will permit a bit of self-congratulation) the burning questions surrounding Epps' involvement in January 6 would not have received the national attention that they deserve. According to the transcript of the January 6th Committee's interrogation of Epps, Epps himself singles out Revolver News along with representatives Massie, Gaetz, and others as the chief culprit in circulating so-called "baseless conspiracy theories" surrounding Epps' behavior.

Best of the Web: ICC's Putin arrest warrant based on State Dept-funded report that debunked itself

CNN news

  • The International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin, accusing him of the "unlawful deportation" of Ukrainian children to a network of camps inside Russia. The warrant was based on a report by the Yale HRL center, which is funded by the US State Department.
  • US journalist Jeremy Loffredo visited one of Russian government-sponsored camps in question. At The Donbas Express, located just outside of Moscow, Loffredo met youth from war-torn regions who were flourishing thanks to free music instruction, and grateful to be in a secure environment. This article features his exclusive video report.
  • A Grayzone review of the Yale HRL report found the paper's content contradicted many claims contained in the ICC warrant. It also undercut incendiary statements its director, Nathaniel Raymond, issued during media appearances.
  • In an interview with Loffredo, Yale HRL's Raymond further contradicted allegations he made in a CNN interview about a massive "hostage situation" underway in Russia, acknowledging that most of the camps he researched were "teddy bear"-like cultural programs. He also disclosed his collaboration with US intelligence.
On March 17, the Prosecutor General of the International Criminal Court, Karim Khan, introduced an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Commissioner for Children's Rights, Maria Llova-Belova. The warrant, which accused Putin and Lolva-Belova of conducting the "unlawful deportation" of Ukrainian children to a "network of camps" across the Russian Federation, inspired a wave of incendiary commentary in the West.

EU has abandoned peace and prosperity - Orban

The pro-war lobby has put the entire bloc in danger over Ukraine, the Hungarian prime minister claims...

The EU has forsaken its goal of ensuring peace and prosperity for its members, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban declared on Friday. Warning that the bloc is considering sending troops into Ukraine, Orban insisted that Hungary will continue pushing for a ceasefire.

"Those who are pro-war have put the whole European Union in danger," Orban told Radio Kossuth, referring to the ongoing efforts by EU member states to arm Kiev's forces. To date, Brussels has supplied Kiev with just under $4 billion worth of arms, while individual member states have donated tanks, artillery, and in the case of Poland and Slovakia, fighter jets to Ukraine.
"We expect two things from the European Union; the first is to have lasting peace. The second thing we expect of the EU is that it should preserve the prosperity it has achieved, but in comparison war and sanctions are destroying the European economy."

Key Russian ally calls for truce in Ukraine

Moscow and Kiev would freeze movement of troops and military equipment under the deal, the Belarusian president has suggested...

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has urged Russia and Ukraine to agree a ceasefire, warning Kiev that its apparently imminent counteroffensive could lead to the conflict spiraling completely out of control.

In a speech to the Belarusian parliament on Friday, Lukashenko stated that the only path to peace in Ukraine lies through diplomatic engagement.
"Moscow and Kiev "should stop now before escalation ensues. I will try to risk suggesting a cessation of hostilities... to declare a truce without the right to move or regroup troops on both sides, [and] without the right to transfer weapons, ammunition... and military equipment... for everybody just to freeze."
Lukashenko claimed that the West had previously attempted to use a truce to strengthen its hand in Ukraine, but that if it did so again, Russia "would be obliged to use all its military and industrial might to prevent escalation in the conflict."

Comment: According to Putin's spokesman, the Belarus ceasefire plan warrants discussion:
Belarusian proposals for a suspension of hostilities in Ukraine can be discussed but they don't change Moscow's analysis of the conflict, the Kremlin spokesman told reporters on Friday.

Dmitry Peskov noted that the initiative formulated by the key Russian ally could not be directly compared to the roadmap for peace in Ukraine set out by China.

The latest proposals for a truce, which were outlined by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, involve a ban on the movement of troops and weapons, so neither Russia nor Ukraine could use the armistice to regather their forces.

Asked about the initiative during a conference call with journalists, Peskov said Lukashenko and Russian President Vladimir Putin would have an opportunity to discuss the proposals when they meet next week. He noted that nothing had changed for Russia regarding Ukraine, and military action "remains the only path to achieve the goals of our nation."

The Russian official declined to compare Lukashenko's plan to proposals released by the Chinese Foreign Ministry last month, which would see the conflict de-escalated and its core issues addressed, including NATO's expansion in Europe. It also states that the territorial integrity of all nations must be respected.

Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Russia earlier this month in a move that Ukraine's Western backers perceived as a gesture that undermined Beijing's position as a mediator in the conflict.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken accused Xi of providing "diplomatic cover" for Moscow and urged the world not to be "fooled by any tactical move by Russia, supported by China or any other country, to freeze the war on its own terms."

Russia has said it was giving the Chinese proposals careful consideration, but Peskov said:
"Some parts cannot be implemented at this moment due to the unwillingness or rather incapacity of the Ukrainian side to disobey its handlers and commanders. Those commanders, who are not in Kiev, as we know, insist that the war continues."

Meet Avichai Buaron, the new Likud lawmaker who advocated for 'extermination camps' for Israel's enemies

Buaron
© social mediaAvichai Buaron • Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu
Avichai Buaron is a radical right-wing activist who has been a leader of the movement to maintain the illegal West Bank outpost of Amona, which is illegal even by Israeli law. This week Buaron became the newest member of the Israeli parliament in Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party, replacing lawmaker David Amsalem who resigned his seat to serve in the Justice Ministry. Buaron is notable because, as if his far right-wing advocacy wasn't enough, in 2010 he published an editorial calling for "extermination camps" for Israel's enemies.

Yes, you read right, extermination camps.

The editorial referenced support for extermination camps for "Amalekites," a common Jewish euphemism. The Amalekites were a people often mentioned in the bible as bitter enemies of the Israelites, where in Deuteronomy the Israelite God commands to "blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven." In contemporary Israel, it is widely understood that "Amalekites" are a reference to Palestinians.
