Fake science: Remember how NOAA says each year is 'hottest ever'? Whistleblower sez US govt agency falsifies data to serve global agenda

paris climate summit
'We are the world!' These people are lying to you. What's worse is that they have no idea that they are lying to you. They really believe climate change is man-made, and that they are the ones to save you from it.
A recently-retired top scientist from the America's National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has accused his superiors of fudging data to hide a slowdown in the rise of global temperatures ahead of the UN Climate Change Conference in 2015.

John Bates told the Sunday Mail that Thomas Karl, the head of the climate change department at the government agency, authored a paper based on false data, "rushed" it into publication, and then saw his work used to make international commitments to fight global warming worth hundreds of billions of dollars.

After rising by 0.113C per decade between 1950 and 1999, temperatures appeared to have stabilized between 2000 and 2014, despite rising levels of CO2 emissions, which climate change scientists said were responsible for the earlier warming.

The "pause,"unveiled in a 2012 UN report, shook up the entire scientific community, and cast doubt upon hundreds of models confidently predicting a trend of accelerating warming.

Family dog attacks boy, mother in Port St. Lucie, Florida

Dog attack
A 9-year-old boy and his mother were transported to area hospitals with serious facial injuries after the family dog bit them Sunday afternoon, according to the St. Lucie County Fire District.

The boy, who was bitten on the right cheek, was flown to St. Mary's Medical Center, West Palm Beach, a fire official said. The mother was taken to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute after being bitten on the ear, said Battalion Chief Scott West.

The dog was described as a pit bull mix. The incident happened at 1:10 p.m. at the family's home on Byron Street near Sportsman's Park. The names of the child and mother weren't released.

The owners turned the dog over to Port St. Lucie Animal Control. It will be put in a mandatory 10-day quarantine "because of the vicious attack," said police spokesman Master Sgt. Frank Sabol. The dog will be housed by the Humane Society of St. Lucie County.

Rare polar phenomenon, Sudden Stratospheric Warming, could trigger big freeze across UK

UK snow travel chaos

The UK faces a three-week freeze with temperatures plunging as cold as -15C because of a rare North Pole phenomenon that triggered the 2010 big freeze and nationwide white-out. The worst cold spell of winter, with widespread snow, ice and travel chaos, threatens from February 11.

The North Pole's high-altitude air has suddenly warmed up and is set to shunt cold low-level Arctic air south to Scotland. However, the whole of the UK is set for a bitter spell of freezing temperatures.

The event, known as a Sudden Stratospheric Warming (SSW) usually chills Scotland for two weeks or longer and sees widespread snow. It has not occurred for four years, official records show. The warning points to the Arctic phenomenon in its February to April forecast being briefed to the Cabinet Office, transport bosses, councils and emergency services.

An SSW often allows cold air to flood Britain from the east and is forecasting "colder and drier conditions" from the end of the week for up to three weeks, lasting into March. The last SSW event to hit Scotland was in early 2013, which saw the coldest March for 51 years, with snow and -12.5C lows as late as March 31 in Braemar, Aberdeenshire.

Mexico's notorious Colima volcano has erupted again, sending a spectacular plume of ash and smoke four kilometers into the air above its crater.

Awesome timelapse footage and images of the erupting volcano, considered one of the most active and potentially dangerous in Central America, have been shared online.

The 12,500-feet volcano in Tuxpan, western Mexico, has increased in eruptive activity since last October, but has been in near constant activity since 1994. The volcano, part of the Colima Volcanic Complex, is situated just 30 kilometers from a residential area that is home to some 300,000 people.

Authorities said there was no need for evacuation despite the powerful eruption, but access has been restricted at Colima Volcano National Park. Colima's activity is now gradually decreasing after Friday's strong explosion, according to the latest status update from Volcano Discovery.

A large waterspout has been captured off the coast of Broome in a dazzling display of nature.

Storm-chaser Richard Young filmed the moment the spout formed at Gantheaume Point as a storm rolled in yesterday afternoon.

"With a very active wet season in the north west town of Broome, today's early afternoon storm producer a spectacular waterspout off the coast," he said.

"Initially the cloud base below the storm produced a broad area of rotation with a thin connection to the water and then continued on to produce a beautiful...thick waterspout."

It lasted close to seven minutes and then moved away from the coast line, Mr Young said.
