Police state
Dear Readers and Critics,

It is time we had a little talk about what is going on here on our planet, our home; our beautiful blue, green and gold marble that spins through the velvet blackness of space in tandem with its brother and sister planets and its parent star: our Sun that gives us life. Lovely image, yes? Poetic, even. Well, all of those complicated things involved in the gift of life seem to be presently under threat by that most interesting of evolutionary developments: homo schizoidius.

We all know something is wrong in our world. Just consider the hysteria that is spreading like a plague. Most recently we have a French teacher stabbing himself and claiming it was a terrorist attack. After being arrested, he was sent to the mental ward. This was a guy who had been teaching and influencing children for twenty years! Then, there was the absolute limit: a waitress in a bar called police after mistaking a mic stand for a gun! A band member was carrying it inside to set up for a performance! Streets were shut down, SWAT team came out, and people could have been killed - including said waitress if she would only stop to think a moment. How many people have recently called cops to help sort a situation only to end up having their loved ones killed, or even being shot themselves? If she has so little common sense, that waitress ought not to breed and spawn, that's for sure.

But these two incidents only follow hundreds of others over the past dozen years since the 9-11 hysteria was created and cranked up. All you have to do is scroll back through our "Society's Child" category to get a good picture of where things have been going. Did we ever imagine we would have military police? On our streets? In our schools? Arresting and abusing our children? Our old people? Our mentally ill friends or relatives? Did we ever imagine we'd be medicating our children for being normal kids? That our college kids would be in debt for life to get an education? That our government would interfere violently in the affairs of other countries creating millions of refugees with nowhere to go? That the actions of our government would inspire so much hate against us around the world that our lives are in danger in our own homes? At least that last one is according to our government leaders: we are in danger in our own homes because of "radical terrorists". The problem is, it seems that more people are being killed by the government's militarized police who appear to be equally hystericized and seeing mic stands as guns, and regular people and pets as enemies. Did we ever imagine that we would permit such things to happen? That we would even ask for such overweening force to be used against us because we are so afraid of somebody else? Do I even need to list the cases? Maybe if you haven't been reading SOTT.net, you aren't aware, but if you have, you certainly are because we collect that sort of thing.

According to a recent poll, nearly 80 percent of Americans think that a terrorist attack is "very or somewhat likely in the next few months." Americans also now seem to be coming to agreement in that 70 percent now call the ISIL terrorist group a major threat to US security and believe the fight against the group is going badly.

We also see that social media is turning from fluff to serious topics. If you look at the list of most discussed topics of 2015 in the linked article, you'll see that terrorism dominates the field 6 to 4. The author of this piece believes that this means that people are "waking up" and realizing that "the elite are drunk behind the wheel and speeding up, rather than slowing down". But is that the case? Doesn't it actually look like social media is being used to spread fear or that fearful people are spreading their own condition to everyone in their network?

Meanwhile, Dan Sanchez points out the obvious:
What terrified me was the response of all the people who are incapable of such a proportional perspective: those who saw the news from France and panicked, thinking "I'm next!" As distant as it was, the Paris attacks unleashed in America a surge of fear and of calls for greater police powers, as well as an attendant wave of anti-Muslim hate and war lust.

And as sophisticated and urbane as the French are reputed to be, they too let irrational terror wash over them. And under its sway, they permitted the State to run rampant over life and liberty. The public attitude was distilled by a young French citizen whose message to her government was, "Do whatever you want, but keep me safe." With this mandate, France escalated its pointless and terrorist-breeding bombing of civilian-filled Syrian towns. ...

When I saw these responses, it fully sank in just how surrounded my family and I are by human livestock and just how acutely dangerous that position is. I realized that, when an attack of that scale and shock-value again happens on American soil, the pack-minded multitudes all around me will deafeningly bay for war. And the herd-minded hundreds of millions will stampede to the State for security, bleating to please, please be shorn of their remaining liberties.

I am not terrified of the terrorists; i.e., I am not, myself, terrorized. Rather, I am terrified of the terrorized; terrified of the bovine masses who are so easily manipulated by terrorists, governments, and the terror-amplifying media into allowing our country to slip toward totalitarianism and total war.
Now, you ask, why is that terrifying? It's obvious. Just look at history. Look at what happened to our world thanks to exactly this sort of activity in Germany in the 30s and 40s of the previous century. Once you have gone over that line, you are far more likely to experience death and destruction within your own home and family than you ever would be without giving up your liberties to a gang of power-mad psychopaths with a Jones for world domination. Your children will be sent off to be cannon fodder; you and your family will go hungry to support the "war effort". If you don't like any of that, you are likely to be shot as a traitor.

In a word, our world has been hystericized - and for a reason and following a well-known process. Back in 2007, I did some research on something called transmarginal inhibition. Transmarginal inhibition, or TMI, is an organism's response to overwhelming stimuli. Ivan Pavlov found that organisms had different levels of tolerance. He commented "that the most basic inherited difference among people was how soon they reached this shutdown point and that the quick-to-shut-down have a fundamentally different type of nervous system". Ironically, the popular acronym TMI means too much information, which can be a common factor of transmarginal inhibition in today's culture. I realized what is happening: the very techniques for inducing stress breakdowns in dogs that were discovered/developed by Ivan Pavlov are being used on the human population all over the globe. Here are the four methods:
1) The first type of stress was simply an increase in the intensity of the signal to which the dog was initially conditioned. If this was gradually increased, at a certain point, when the signal was too strong for its system, the dog would begin to break down.
This one is pretty easy to see: they are trying to stress everyone with fear, so they keep pouring on the "fear signal." Not only are we supposed to be afraid of terrorists, we are supposed to be afraid that if we do anything that is taken the wrong way by the PTB, we will end up in Gitmo, a torture victim.

Of course, there is the long term stress that has been applied for a very long time to the U.S. population: financial insecurity. That one is near the breaking point! But, we notice that those with weak systems shut down quickly, right after 9-11. Heck, they may have shut down before 9-11 and succumbed to the propaganda of the Bush presidential campaign. They were the Bush supporters from the beginning.

Next:
2) The second way of achieving the ultraboundary event was to increase the time between the giving of the signal and the arrival of food. If a dog was conditioned to receive food five seconds after the warning signal, and this period was then prolonged, signs of restlessness and abnormal behavior would become evident in the less stable dogs. Pavlov discovered that the dog's brains revolted against any abnormally long waiting period while under stress. Breakdown would occur when the dog had to either exert very strong, or very prolonged, inhibition. (Human beings also find protracted waiting while under stress to be debilitating: worse than the event that produces the anxiety.)
This one is interesting. We see it playing out again and again and have done for the past 13 years. Back when it was between Dubya and Saddam, we were treated to: "We are gonna bomb Iraq..." soon. Over and over and over again the back and forth about WMDs and all that nonsense. By the time the war was launched, a lot of people were GLAD and fully behind it because their stress levels had maxed out. As for those who were against the war, many of them may have simply been too stressed to care.

Right now, it is being done again with Syria, Turkey, Russia and who knows what else. Everyone knows what is likely to happen: WW III, but the stress of waiting is getting to everyone. Thing is, the puppet masters behind Obama know this. That is their plan! To wear people out with the stress of waiting, hot and cold, yes, no, "it's gonna happen... maybe tomorrow... next week... next month... or maybe not."

This sort of thing is maddening to the system. How many people can stand up under this kind of stress? Not many, I think. Even many progressive types have gone completely mad and switched sides.
3) The third way of inducing a breakdown was to confuse the dogs by anomalies in the conditioning signal. If positive and negative signals were given one after the other, (yes, no, yes, no, etc), the hungry dog would become uncertain as to what would happen next and this disrupted the normal nerve stability. This is also true with human beings.
We sure know this one: the propaganda, the confusing messages, today this guy is bad, tomorrow he is good, today we hate Russia, tomorrow Obama and Putin play golf together. Today Al Qaeda are bad guys, tomorrow they are "moderate terrorists". And on and on. I'm sure that thousands of examples could be listed. And, of course, this one is used against Russia which had long been the American boogeyman. So few people can recognize that America claims the moral high ground it doesn't have, while Russia acts on that moral high ground with conscience and decisiveness. It's almost too much for a well-programmed mind to comprehend.
4) The fourth way of inducing a breakdown in a dog was to destabilize the dog's physical condition in some way, either by subjecting it to long periods of work, inducing gastro-intestinal disorders, fever, disturbing the glandular balance, surgery, etc.
This one is devious and dreadful. It is the method used against those with strong constitutions, high intelligence, who resist being dominated and controlled. That's what taking away your health is about. That's what the pharmaceutical companies are about. That's where the 'Standard American Diet', that is so non-nutritious that it isn't funny, comes into play. That's what Monsanto and GMOs are about. And certainly, if you are really sharp and can see the totality of the program, you'll realize that this is where the anti-smoking campaign fits in. Just destabilize the health of the masses, remove a stress control amelioration substance, and they are infinitely more susceptible to being broken and dominated. Also, who knows if they haven't figured out some kind of EM tech that sends out waves that disrupt human organ systems. And what about cell phone towers? And maybe various pathogens dropped over various cities at different times?

People, we are really screwed. Yeah, I wish I had more of an answer other than just trying to wake people up and make them aware. In previous years, the problem was that there were still way too many people unwilling to rock the boat. And way too many people who were so stressed on 911 that they easily converted to the neocon explanation that day. Now, we see that the programming is almost complete. The number of people who have been able to resist Transmarginal Inhibition breakdown that is being applied to the masses of humanity on a daily basis is getting smaller and smaller and those who have been broken and converted is getting larger and more vocal. It's almost all over but the crying.
"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger." - Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials
The only thing to do is to try to figure out strategies that help us cope with the stress because the psychopaths seeking to become our evil overlords are actually, right now, in the process of making their big move. They are stepping out of the closet and onto the world stage and a lot of people are waking up suddenly and violently and really don't have the resources to know what to make of it all. I keep thinking of that stupid waitress who could very easily have brought on her own death and destruction as well as that of many others by her foolishness - her utter stupidity and lack of sense.

The populations of the West have been whipped into a frenzy and the fear is being fueled by governments, not Muslims.
"According to an analysis by the New America Foundation, Islamic terror attacks in the United States have led to the deaths of 45 people since 9/11. While 45 deaths is 45 too many, the dizzying fear of Islamic extremism currently sweeping the nation is objectively overblown."
The point of all of it is to create division, sow animosity, to evoke fear, fear, fear so as to prevent people from realizing that their real enemies are in the governments - the 1% of specific types of psychopaths who have risen to the top and will do whatever it takes to gain power and stay in control.

For any hope of change, people need to understand the phenomenon of psychopathy so they can unite against this real menace, rather than destroying each other and the world.

For many, perhaps most people, evil is something you find in prisons or slums. They simply do not think of people who have money and dress nicely as being evil. But successful psychopaths do not end up in prisons or slums. They can be bankers, physicians, professionals of any stripe, politicians, even leaders of nations.

When evil is perpetrated on persons of other nationalities or races, people often turn a blind eye, especially when it is justified by their leaders. For example, in the United States slavery was justified by the slave owners for many decades, despite the 'All men are created equal' proclamation of our Declaration of Independence. More recently, hundreds of thousands of Iraqi civilian deaths have been justified in order to excuse our invasion and occupation of their country. They justify it by saying such things as "We didn't start this war", as if hundreds of thousands of dead Iraqi civilians were responsible for the 9-11 attacks on our country. Noam Chomsky sums up this phenomenon succinctly in What We Say Goes: Conversations on U.S. Power in a Changing World:
When you conquer somebody and suppress them, you have to have a reason. You can't just say, "I'm a son of a bitch and want to rob them". You have to say it's for their good, they deserve it, or they actually benefit from it. That was the attitude of the slave owners. Most of them didn't say, "Look, I'm enslaving these people because I want easily exploitable cheap labor for my own benefit."
Whether or not or how much damage a psychopath actually does is dependent upon circumstances. Martha Stout explains:
If you are born at the right time, with some access to family fortune, and you have a special talent for whipping up other people's hatred and sense of deprivation, you can arrange to kill large numbers of unsuspecting people. With enough money, you can accomplish this from far away, and you can sit back safely and watch in satisfaction.
In such cases, evil individuals or cabals may take control of a whole nation, and then the destruction often becomes enormous in the form of genocides or other mass murders. James Petras explains in Rulers and Ruled in the U.S. Empire:
Explanations of genocides that focus on "irrational mass behavior", overlook the central importance of elite manipulation, anchored in the state, the economy and civil society. In none of the genocides of the 20th and 21st Century were the "masses" in a position to initiate, organize and direct them, though, certainly, sectors of the lower classes carried out the policies.
Today, radical Nazi-like statements by Donald Trump are met with self-righteous horror pretended by politicians and pundits who claim to be shocked by what he is saying. Hells bells! Trump is only articulating what those very same politicians have been inculcating in the masses! As Andre Damon writes:
The blathering of this fascistic imbecile expresses only in more concentrated form the perpetual hysteria one hears every day in the media. The difference between Trump and someone like CNN's Wolf Blitzer is just a matter of degree. He is the product of a diseased political environment.

As for Obama, in his national address on Sunday, the president postured as a critic of Republican calls for targeting Muslims. Yet the Obama administration is responsible for the continuation of an imperialist policy in the Middle East that has devastated entire countries, with at least a million people, mainly Muslim, killed in the process...

During every imperialist war, the ruling class seeks to cultivate the most backward and racist sentiments. The "war on terror," which has led to the deaths of at least a million Muslims, is no different, creating an environment in which racist hysteria is relentlessly promoted in the media.
At its core, capitalism is just a nicer word for fascism in many Western countries today. And those individuals who have sustained and make a living propagating the illusion of free markets, just wars, humanitarian interventions, etc. are either themselves psychopaths in positions of power or so deeply corrupted by psychopathic thinking that they might as well be psychopaths - for all the suffering and destruction they inflict on others. Unless and until people come to recognize this problem for what it is, humanity as a whole is in for a long, slow, horrifying train wreck of massive global suffering.

Morality and humanism cannot long withstand the predations of this evil. Knowledge of its nature - and its insidious effect on both individuals and groups - is the only antidote.

Spread knowledge, not fear. And never be afraid of the truth.
