SOTT Focus: Documents Reveal Dutch Government Sent Military Supplies to Terrorists in Syria

isis, jabhat al-shamiya, levant front
A still from a video published by Jabhat al-Shamiya aka the Levant Front
Last year, a 'Government Information (Public Access) Act' request was filed by two Dutch daily newspapers (Trouw and Nieuwsuur) in an effort to reveal the exact nature of the 'aid' that had been sent to Syria by the Dutch government between 2015 and early 2018. While the Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs, Stef Blok, had previously said that the aid sent to Syria was "civil in nature", the released documents revealed otherwise.

The documents, comprising about 2,000 pages in total, revealed that almost all 'aid' sent by the Dutch government was sent to foreign jihadist and terrorists and was of a decidedly military rather than civilian nature. Trouw reported that Toyota Hilux and Isuzu D-max pick-up trucks, 'tactical vests' for weapons such as the M-16 and AK-47, food packages, generators, furniture, laptops, satellite telephones, mattresses, backpacks and cameras were all part of the 'aid'. Once in the hands of the terrorists, laptops were used to select military targets, while pick-up trucks, tactical vests, telephones and cameras were all used in assault missions against the Syrian and Russian militaries, not to mention the Syrian population. The rest of the material provided comfort to the terrorists.

This was the year of 'woke'. Or at least the year that 'woke' made its biggest land grab. For anyone lucky enough not to have encountered the term, woke is essentially political correctness after a course of steroids. Its followers spend their lives punishing any wrong-think committed, which can include thinking something everyone thought until yesterday. And includes saying things that are true.

The main inspirations for the wokerati are anything to do with relations between the sexes, race, LGBT issues, and the last of these (Trans) in particular. In each case a legitimate rights debate is weaponised into a culture war.

This year started in the manner in which it meant to go on. In January, former policeman Harry Miller was contacted by Humberside Police after a member of the public reported him for allegedly 'transphobic' comments made on Twitter. His offence? The 53-year-old posted a limerick that questioned whether trans women are biological women. The police recorded it as a 'hate incident'.

SOTT Focus: Clueless Extinction Rebellion Protesters Don't Know What CO2 Stands For

extinction rebellion
"We are Extinction Rebellion, and we are rising up because we believe we should stop global warming, because it's caused by humankind, because of CO2, which is... something in the air, and it's bad, and it's increasing, and don't get us started about carbon dioxide"
Exctinction Rebellion (ER) is a silly movement that was originally established in the UK in May 2018. A snapshot of what ER activists have been up to includes gluing themselves to an electric bus, going on hunger strike, attempting to glue themselves to the top of a train, smashing windows at the Department of Transport with a hammer and screwdriver, attempting to shutdown an airport, and attempting to spray 1,800 liters of fake blood at a government building in London (the latter attempt backfiring embarrassingly).

ER has also reached the Netherlands with a Dutch version of its website trying to lure in people from all ages to join their nonsensical cause and protests. In the week of October 7th, 2019, hundreds of ER members attempted to block the Stadshouderskade in Amsterdam, an important road in the city.

Perhaps most revealing of all, however, was when Mark Baanders, a reporter with the controversial Dutch broadcaster PowNed, went to the protests and discovered how little the protesters actually knew about what they were protesting about.

The following is a transcript of some parts of the interview:

SOTT Focus: So, Besides Tweeting Folk Off, What Has Donald Trump Actually DONE as President?

Comment: Kudos to @robbystarbuck for compiling this list of Trump's accomplishments (and near-accomplishments, and some things that were accomplished on his watch, but which aren't necessarily his doing) during the last three years.

[Note: we have not verified every piece of legislation and statistic listed, but the author invites feedback on mistakes or oversights.]

For the record, we don't see every single one of them as being 'good'. But most of them clearly are, and they add up to a productive, normal, BIPARTISAN first term as president.

Which you wouldn't have a clue about from listening to US and foreign media paint him 'Literally Hitler'...

SOTT Focus: De-Bunking the Myth of the Jewish Conspiracy

trump Jews
Recently, I've noticed a strong resurgence of a lazy tendency to blame all the world's problems on "the Jews". At least 20% of my published articles over the past year have resulted in readers condemning me for not saying that Jews are the causal hand running the world. Here, I'd like very much to say something about this. I think this is especially important since a growing number of influential alt-media platforms such as Russia Insider have moved not only towards an absolutely anti-Jewish, but also a dangerously pro-Hitler narrative that I believe must be nipped in the bud and put into some rational perspective.

Just to state clearly off the bat: I am not a fan of the ADL, the Rothschild banking dynasty, the younger Warburg dynasty, Mossad-affiliated pedophiles or George Soros. I do not condone the B'nai Brith's Freemasonic intrigues, nor do I approve of the "Greater Israel" logic of Jabotinzky-ite loving Zionists, who tend to believe that the entire Middle East from Palestine, Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and Iran belongs rightfully to them.

I do however believe that there is something profoundly beautiful in the Jewish cultural matrix that stems from Platonic humanist thinkers as Rabbi Philo of Alexandria (20 B.C.-50 A.D.) to Moses Maimonides (1138-1204) to the great scholar Moses Mendelssohn (1729-1786), whose amazing contributions to human knowledge birthed Germany's incredible renaissance movement of the 18-19th century. The rise of such modern Jewish artists who led the Yiddish Renaissance as I.L. Peretz and Shalom Aleichem nourished their souls on such ecumenical inspiration at the turn of the 20th century. The rise of modern Zionism, as we shall see, was designed explicitly to destroy this positive spiritual tradition within Judaism, reducing it to a 'blood and soil' cult.

Comment: As always with this topic, it's complicated. But the author is essentially correct in that 'world rulership', to the extent that that is even a thing, doesn't start and end with 'the Jews', just as it doesn't with the British. No one country, ethnicity, religion or network is 'driving this thing'. The 'powers and principalities' behind the thrones are way too cunning to 'put all their eggs in one basket' by operating in this realm via just one source.

The Democrats have now revealed the hand they're going to play for impeachment. I have been vehemently arguing against playing this game and pointing out how futile it is, but, seeing the two cards actually laid out on the table, even I am gobsmacked at what a loser of a hand they've got.

Of course, we have to recognize Gerald Ford's correct point that "An impeachable offense is whatever a majority of the House of Representatives considers it to be at a given moment in history," and accept that the Democratic majority in the House at the present moment will determine that their two charges against Trump are impeachable offenses.

But it's equally true that an acquitable charge is whatever more than a third of the Senate considers it to be, and the issue will finally be decided by the political support the charges can muster from Republican senators and their constituents.

Given the ideological disposition of those senators and constituents, as well as the widespread reluctance of Americans generally to impeach a president โ€” an act that does annul an election โ€” over any but the most serious offenses, it is hard to believe the Democrats think they will sway anybody with the thin gruel they are serving up.

Comment: Trump's impeachment: Is it a travesty of justice, a connecting of dots, merely inconvenient truth or a springboard to ultimate disaster? Kavanagh explores various hidden motives, agendas and outcomes - including those we hope to never see. Is the future open or has it been decided?

SOTT Focus: MindMatters: The Best Thing About Communism Was The Jokes

hammer tickle
A judge walks out of his chambers laughing his head off. A colleague approaches him and asks why he is laughing.

"I just heard the funniest joke in the world!"

"Well, go ahead, tell me!" says the other judge.

"I can't. I just gave someone ten years for it."

With the fall of communism in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe, the world lost one of humanity's greatest cultural productions: the communist joke. Crossing cultures and borders, the jokes were unique, ubiquitous, and jam-packed with information. They were funny too. The mix of totalitarian power, propaganda, censorship, and ineptitude created the perfect climate for an underground joke-telling tradition.

In his book, Hammer and Tickle, Ben Lewis tracks down all the best jokes from the era, providing not only a handy compendium, but a cultural history of communism in the process. As communism changed, so did the jokes, revealing the different experiences and attitudes of the people during the times of Lenin, Stalin, Khrushchev, and then into the stagnation of the Brezhnev years and finally the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Note, MindMatters will be back in January. Merry Christmas, everyone!

SOTT Focus: 2019 - The Year of Manufactured Hysteria

hysteria
Well, it looks like we've somehow managed to survive another year of diabolical Putin-Nazi attacks on democracy.

It was touch-and-go there for a while, especially coming down the home stretch, what with Jeremy Corbyn's desperate attempt to overthrow the UK government, construct a British version of Auschwitz, and start rounding up and mass-murdering the Jews.

That was certainly pretty scary ... but then, the whole year was pretty scary.

The horror began promptly in early January, when Rachel Maddow revealed that Putin was projecting words out of Trump's mouth in real-time, i.e., literally using Trump's head like a puppet, or one of those Mission Impossible masks. And that was just the tip of the iceberg, as, despite the best efforts of Integrity Initiative, Bellingcat, and other such establishment psyops, Internet-censoring sites like NewsGuard, and an army of mass hysteria generators, Putin's legion of Russian "influencers" was continuing to maliciously influence Americans, who were probably also still under attack by brain-eating Russian-Cubano crickets!

While Resistance members were still wrapping their heads in anti-cricket aluminum foil, Putin (i.e., Russian Hitler) ordered Trump (i.e., Russian-asset Hitler) to launch a coup in Venezuela (i.e., Russian Hitler's South American ally), probably to distract us from "Smirkboy Hitler" and his acne-faced gang of MAGA cap-wearing Catholic high-school Hitler Youth, who were trying to invade and Hitlerize the capital. Or maybe the coup was meant to distract us from the un-American activities of Bernie Sanders, who had also been deemed a Russian asset, or a devious "Kremlin-Trump operation," or was working with Tulsi Gabbard to build an army of blood-drinking Hindu nationalists, genocidal Assadists, and American fascists to help the Iranians (and the Russians, of course, and presumably also Jeremy Corbyn) frontally assault the State of Israel and drive the Jews into the sea.

SOTT Focus: By Impeaching Trump, Democrats Have Made Him More Powerful Than They Could Ever Imagine

trump
© REUTERS/Kevin LamarqueUS President Donald Trump departs the White House for a campaign rally while the House debates impeachment, December 18, 2019
From coast to coast, the Resistance is cheering the impeachment of President Donald Trump in the House. They shouldn't be. For in seeking to destroy him, they have only made him more powerful, and undercut themselves.

Let's not mince words: Wednesday's vote was the culmination of efforts that began on November 8, 2016, with Trump's shocking triumph over Hillary Clinton - or maybe even before, on whatever date the FBI actually began investigating the Trump campaign for "Russian collusion" per accusations coming from Democrats.

All those paths, from "emoluments" and "Hamilton electors," via the ill-fated Mueller Report into "Russiagate," to the "whistleblower" complaint about the Ukraine phone call, they all converged on this inevitable conclusion. The actual "high crimes or misdemeanors" never mattered - or materialized, really - all anyone needed to do is repeat the mantra, Orange Man Bad.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-California) wore black and intoned about sadness and solemnity of the day for the American Republic and its importance for "our democracy." It was a bonfire of hypocrisies, as the party that has spent years denouncing everything about America - its flag, anthem, founders, and even the political system - now claiming to be defending it all from the "clear and present danger" Trump somehow represented.

Even now, it is unclear what they sought to accomplish. There is no indication that the Republican-majority Senate will actually vote to convict the president and remove him from office - and the Democrats know this. Nor is being impeached going to somehow disqualify Trump from being on the ballot in 2020, no matter what some "Republican" commentators on MSNBC and CNN may argue.

Comment: Other analysts are in agreement: Political analyst on Impeachment: Trump will emerge stronger and more forceful in his personal popularity in America

As to the question, "Why are the Democrats shooting themselves in the foot with this impeachment charade?", the answer lies here:

Dems' Push to Impeach Trump is Merely the Latest Chapter of US Civil War 2.0
Considering that the Democrats have absolutely nothing to gain by trying to impeach Trump, another possible motive must be considered, which is that the Democrats are desperately trying to protect themselves. Unknown to many, high-level Democrats, intelligence officers, and former White House officials have been under investigation for many months by Attorney General Will Barr and federal prosecutor John Durham. The reason has little to do with Ukraine, and everything to do with Trump's promise to "drain the swamp."

In a nutshell, Barr and Dunham will soon be releasing their highly anticipated attorney general's report, which will determine whether the FBI had submitted false documents for obtaining a FISA warrant to spy on the Trump administration in 2016. The word 'treason' is even being whispered on Capitol Hill. The investigation involves a mind boggling array of top characters who played a role in creating the Steele Dossier (home of the famous pee tape), a largely debunked 'intelligence' document that ultimately failed to prove a link between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin.
Putin: Trump impeachment 'far-fetched,' Senate will acquit
Russian President Vladimir Putin called the U.S. impeachment process "far-fetched" Thursday, making a seemingly obvious prediction that Donald Trump will be acquitted in the Senate.

Putin said Thursday at his annual news conference in Moscow that the move is a continuation of the Democrats' fight against Trump.

"The party that lost the (2016) election, the Democratic Party, is trying to achieve results by other means," Putin said.

He likened Trump's impeachment to the earlier U.S. probe into collusion with Russia, which Putin downplayed as being groundless.

Putin noted that the impeachment motion "is yet to pass the Senate where the Republicans have a majority." He added that "they will be unlikely to remove a representative of their own party from office on what seems to me an absolutely far-fetched reason."

SOTT Focus: Dems' Push to Impeach Trump is Merely the Latest Chapter of US Civil War 2.0

The US is more divided today than at any time since the historic war between North and South, and whether or not the Democrats vote to impeach Trump, Americans won't be spared a political storm looming on the horizon.

Today, millions of Washington watchers around the world are asking the same question: What happens if the Democrats go ahead and bring articles of impeachment against Donald J. Trump? The answer is twofold, and just might be the shortest story ever told: At first nothing, and then, everything. The end.

The reason nothing will happen immediately requires no degree in political science to appreciate. Should the Democrats commit the mother of all political screw-ups by voting to impeach Trump, all on the basis of hearsay, gossip and maybe reading tea leaves, the circus moves next door to the Senate, where Republicans hold a majority. This is where House efforts to impeach Trump will inevitably smack into a brick wall and disintegrate.
