Vitamin D deficiencies linked to muscle injuries and alzheimer's

Image
A vitamin D deficiency can be attributed to a number of serious health conditions such as breast cancer, depression, rheumatoid arthritis and brittle bones. But that isn't all.

Research has found even more links between vitamin D deficiency and compromised health.

The researchers concluded that lower than normal vitamin D levels can lead to muscle-related injuries in athletes and plaque build-up in the brain associated with Alzheimer's disease.

Vitamin D and Muscle Injury

When data from professional football players was reviewed by researchers, it was found that over three-fourths of the athletes had insufficient vitamin D levels.

Researchers collected information from 89 players with an average age of 25. Vitamin D levels were measured, and muscle injuries were recorded throughout the season.

Why I always opt out of the TSA's naked body scanners

TSA Scanners
© NatureSociety
The TSA's naked body scanners have created mass congestion and humiliation within every major airport at which they are installed, but leading radiation experts say that they are also causing mass waves of cancer - the exact number of which is impossible to calculate. You may or may not remember, but in November of last year a bombshell report linking the scanners to cancer actually led to a TSA press response in which they promised to re-test the scanners through independent trials.

As you may have guessed, they of course decided not to proceed with the testing after promising to do so. If they had actually done so, of course, then it would reveal to travels just how much radiation they are being blasted with when travelling through the 'harmless' scanners.

It was actually back in 1998 that radiation experts, much like one leading radiation expert I spoke with in a video below, actually projected that the scanners were causing cancer deaths thanks to the emission of radiation. This of course was back in 1998, long before the widespread usage of the scanners. With these machines being rolled out nationwide and having millions pass through each year, the estimate of 100 or so deaths per year back in 1998 can actually be expanded to the thousands (if not more). Even John Hopkins scientists warned similarly that the scanners can wreak havoc on the body.

Why certain foods cause headaches

The headache is a perplexing ailment that afflicts most people at some point. It's a symptom of dozens of different diseases, and it can also have dozens of causes - or no apparent cause at all.

Researchers have now found evidence that ordinary foods like nuts, beans and cheese may be linked to severe, incapacitating headaches in some people, reports the Wall Street Journal. The culinary culprit? Tyramine.

Tyramine occurs naturally in food from the breakdown of amino acids, and it's believed to trigger an immune response - plus a splitting headache - in certain people. High levels of tyramine are often found in foods that are aged, pickled or stored for long periods: Cheeses like brie, cheddar and provolone, pickles and salami and other cured meats contain high levels of tyramine, as do peanuts, Brazil nuts, avocados, bananas and fava, navy and pinto beans, according to the Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago and the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.

Researchers show how infant formula causes cellular death in five minutes

Many mothers experience disappointment when breastfeeding challenges arise and there's a good reason for it--they possess liquid gold and they know it. When there are obstacles which prevent their newborn from receiving optimal ratios of fats, proteins, vitamins, minerals, enzymes and immune boosters in their breast milk, who can blame a new mom for being upset their baby will receive second best in an infant formula.

These formulas are not only second best but are becoming outright toxic to infants. According to a new study by University of California, San Diego bioengineers, free fatty acids created during the digestion of infant formula cause cellular death and severe intestinal conditions.

Breast milk is the perfect food for baby, with numerous advantages over baby formula, especially in the first four months or so. Infant formula has no DHA, cholesterol, lipase, lactoferrin, lysozyme, lactose, vital oligosaccharides, living cells and almost no immunoglobins. All of these components are essential to a newborn's health yet absent in infant formula.

Babies fed a dairy-based formula grow up to have higher blood pressure than babies who are breast-fed, British researchers reported.

Babies fed enriched bottle milk are also more likely to be obese by the age of five.

Human milk oligosaccharides, or HMO, produce short-chain fatty acids that feed a beneficial microbial population in the infant gut. Not only that, the bacterial composition adjusts as the baby grows older and its needs change.

Autoimmunity, gluten, blood sugar, unmanaged Hashimoto's and anxiety

Suffering from anxiety is like being held prisoner in a place where worry infuses every thought, your heart pounds, and the world seems jarring and disorienting. With anti-anxiety medications among the most commonly prescribed drugs in the United States, Americans are clearly suffering. Though medications relieve the symptoms, they don't address the cause.

Some causes of anxiety are obvious: stimulants such as caffeine, weight loss pills, energy drinks, or supplements that increase energy. Psychological or emotional stressors, such as having to speak in public or prepare for a major exam, can also bring on bouts of anxiety.

However, chronic anxiety can have lesser-known causes that, if managed, can relieve symptoms and negate the need for medication. Although the cause of anxiety can sometimes be neurologically complex, other times it can be as simple as making some changes to your diet and lifestyle. Below are a few lesser-known causes of anxiety.

GAD autoimmunity and anxiety

GAD stands for glutamic acid decarboxylase, an enzyme that triggers production of the brain's primary calming chemical, called GABA. Some people develop an autoimmune reaction to GAD, which means their immune system erroneously attacks and destroys it. As a result, they can't make enough GABA to calm the brain and anxiety goes up. GAD autoimmunity is also linked to obsessive compulsive disorder, motion sickness, vertigo, facial tics, and other symptoms. GAD autoimmunity is more common in those with gluten sensitivity or celiac disease and a gluten-free diet can alleviate symptoms.

Loss of normal nighttime parasympathetic activity in veterans suffering from Gulf War Syndrome

A scientific paper confirming the relationship between autonomic nervous system dysfunction and Gulf War Illness was published online November 26, 2012 in the Archives of Neurology, according to Targeted Medical Pharma, Inc. (OTCQB: TRGM) (OTCBB: TRGM), a specialty pharmaceutical company that develops and distributes prescription medical foods to physicians and pharmacies.

Comment: Here we go again, the always-present Big Pharma-sponsored medical research...

The paper, "Cholinergic Autonomic Dysfunction in Veterans with Gulf War Illness," revealed a blunting or loss of normal nighttime parasympathetic activity in veterans suffering from Gulf War Illness was strongly associated with upper gastrointestinal dysmotility and sleep dysfunction. The abstract of the study can be viewed by visiting: [link]

"The results of this study confirm our company's approach to the management of Gulf War Illness and other diseases involving disordered autonomic function," said William Shell, M.D., CEO and chief scientific officer of Targeted Medical Pharma, Inc., co-author of the scientific paper who provided data, analysis, and manuscript revisions, along with the late Elizabeth Charuvastra, RN, co-founder of Targeted Medical Pharma. "Our company is poised to educate military and civilian healthcare providers how to utilize the prescription-only medical foods Sentra AM ® and Sentra PM ® as part of a regimen to manage autonomic dysfunction associated with Gulf War Illness and other chronic diseases."

Comment: Instead of focusing on drugs, how about providing all veterans with natural methods to heal their autonomic nervous system function that are available for free? Don't they deserve better than a Big Pharma solution?! The proper stimulation of neural aspects within our bodies through specific breathing techniques allows us to balance and unlock our social engagement capabilities and heal imbalances of the autonomic nervous system which are related with depression, anxiety, trauma, etc. It is in fact one of the reasons as to why our breathing program has had profound healing effects in its practitioners. Vaccine Bombshell: Leaked confidential document exposes 36 infants dead after this vaccine

Image
A report to the government noted babies died after receiving a vaccine.
A confidential GlaxoSmithKline document recently leaked to the press exposed that within a two-year period, a total of 36 infants died after receiving the 6-in-1 vaccine, Infanrix Hexa. [1] According to the website Initiative Citoyenne [2] who reported the news, the 1271 page document revealed that GlaxoSmithKline received a total of 1,742 reports of adverse reactions between October 23, 2009, and October 22, 2011, including 503 serious adverse reactions and 36 deaths. Initiative Citoyenne stated:
"It's not that 14 deaths were recorded by GSK between October 2009 and end in October 2011 as we had originally calculated but 36 (14 from 2010 to 2011 and 22 from 2009 to 2010). In addition to these 36 deaths at least 37 other deaths (sudden death mainly), bringing the total to at least 73 deaths since the launch of the vaccine in 2000, and again, this concerns only the death by sudden death, no further recovery of under-reporting."
Using the figure of 36 deaths over a two-year period, this averages 1.5 deaths per month, which by anyone's standard is extremely high. Note that only 1 to 10% of adverse reactions to vaccines are actually reported. Therefore, in reality, the problem could potentially be far more serious and the actual number of fatalities much higher.

Comment: Personal integrity, love of truth, fairness, conscience, no conflict of interest, taking responsibility, unbiased scientific research, etc. These are pretty words that we have come to associate with members of the scientific and medical community.

The problem with such associations is that they are no more than illusions, and dangerous ones at that, especially when we provide scientists and whoever funds their research with silent consent to shape, control and influence our lives in any way they see fit. The depth of moral depravity and criminal negligence in the scientific community and their actions keep us in the dark and more often than not, put our lives in harm's way.

Human and synthetic hormones now contaminate fresh produce

toxic tomato graphic
Hormones and/or hormone-mimicking chemicals are omnipresent environmental contaminants. Already found in places as varied as our teeth (dental sealant) to our paper products (receipts, money), our meat to our canned foods, new research now indicates that even fresh, whole vegetables and fruits are no longer immune to this growing biological and chemical threat.

A newly released study has found that a variety of substances with hormone-disrupting properties now widely contaminate commercially available fresh vegetables and fruits, in some cases at concentrations exceeding the recommended acceptable daily intake (ADI) for children as recommended by the Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA).

Published this month in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, researchers at the Indian River Research and Education Center, University of Florida/IFAS, found the synthetic endocrine-disrupting chemicals bisphenol A (BPA), nonylphenol (NP), and the natural steroidal estrogen 17-β-estradiol, in vegetables and fruits randomly sampled from local markets, using gas chromotagraphy with tandem mass spectrometry.[i]

According to the researchers, the "BPA was detected in all vegetable and fruit samples, ranging from 0.2±0.1 to 9.0±4.9 µg kg-1, indicating significant exposure potential for humans." Nonylphenol (NP), a chemical in the alkylphenol class mainly used to manufacturer detergents, was detected in pumpkin, sweet potato, citrus, and apple samples. Concentrations of 17-β-estradiol in vegetables and fruits ranged from 1.3±0.4 to 2.2±1.0 µg kg-1 except those in tomato and strawberry.

Quitting junk food is like drug withdrawal, study suggests

Junk Food

If you know a junk-food junkie with a stockpile of Twinkies in their garage, the following news might not be a big surprise: Researchers have found that quitting a diet high in fat and sugar produces changes in the brain similar to withdrawal from addictive drugs.

Researchers in Canada made this discovery after feeding a group of mice a junk-food diet that would shame any glutton: For six weeks, the mice ate foods that had a whopping 58 percent calories from fat.

They compared these mice to another group of mice eating relatively lean foods with just 11 percent calories from fat, reports Huffington Post.

To the surprise of no one, the mice that scarfed down the high-fat diet increased their waist size by 11 percent at the end of the six-week study. After the mice raised on a high-fat diet were switched to a healthier one, they acted more anxious and depressed.

Dr. Oz flip-flops on supporting organics as high-profile attacks intensify

Image
© project.nsearch.com
America's most popular TV doctor seems to have forgotten his own words that organic food is "worth the investment" and is instead trashing organics.

"So you're being told organic food is no more nutritious than conventional and it's not worth your extra money. Well I'm here to say that it is worth the investment. Why do I say that? Pesticides." -
- Dr. Oz, Oct. 19, 2012

Less than two months after telling millions of TV viewers that organic food is "worth the investment," America's most popular TV doctor is singing a different tune. In the December issue of Time magazine, Dr. Oz described organic foodies as "elitist" - part of the 1% - and claimed that conventional foods are nutritionally equivalent to organic foods. According to Dr. Oz:
The rise of foodie culture over the past decade has venerated all things small-batch, local-farm and organic - all with premium price tags. But let's be clear: you don't need to eat like the 1% to eat healthily.
Suddenly, the pesticides Dr. Oz was so concerned about a couple of months ago, the ones he warned viewers were "one of the greatest threats to your kids' health," no longer matter. What's more, if you're spending extra money to avoid them, you're a food snob - instead of a responsible, health-conscious parent.
