Google omitting SOTT.net from search results?
A few days ago one of our readers brought this curious detail to our attention. While searching for an article on Google, they discovered a problem with results from SOTT.net being consistently omitted from Google listings.
Our correspondent writes:
"I find just now that if you search any of the text in "quotes" from Henry See's 'Provoking Stupidity and Violence' piece on Hal Turner, Google brings back zero results from SOTT. The same text will be brought up from other sites carrying the story though.
So, say you grab the first few words from it: "Dave Neiwert at Orincus" and search it, according to Google it doesn't exist on SOTT!
But if you do the same with the title: "Provoking Stupidity and Violence", the article is there!
Other search engines do bring back the SOTT page though. Now how might that happen!?"
How indeed!
Well, our curiosity piqued, we thought it best to go have a look. Was it possible that original articles written by the SOTT team were being 'disappeared' by Google, the thread back to the author snipped? Well, lets see...
Agents, Witches and other omissions
First up is the article brought to our attention:
Provoking Stupidity and Violence: Hal Turner outed as Agent Provocateur
 | | | Click for larger view. |
Sure enough, if you copy the first few words of the article - "Dave Neiwert at Orincus" - as a search term for Google, the above is what you get and no, no sign of SOTT in there. To find SOTT we had to click "repeat the search with the omitted results included" and dig for another five pages to find where the original article lay buried.
Now that might just be some quirk of the system, so to be fair we gave it another shot with this next article written around the same time:
Wars Pestilence and Witches
This time taking the key phrase "triggered by reading Victor Clube", something specific so as not to have results diluted by any possible returns from other articles. The result, one return!
So you're thinking, well that has to be SOTT right? Wrong! Click below to see the results, on the left is the solitary return from Google, on the right the "repeat the search with the omitted results included" results - where once again we find SOTT and the Laura-Knight-Jadczyk blog.
Well, maybe these articles are 'too new' and for some reason not yet picked up by Google as 'relevant' enough. Though how a copy of an article on a lone blog in the example above is more 'relevant' than the article's originating page would seem more than a little nonsensical.
So for good measure, here we have some 'not so new' examples, to see if time has made any difference (apparently not). As above, initial quoted text search results are on the left, Google's 'omitted' results to the right.
Ultra-terrestrials and 9-11
Transmarginal Inhibition
The Bushes and The Lost King
Seems SOTT.net is one site that Google does not want inquiring minds to visit!

Why would anyone want to suppress access to this site? Oh wait....

I've been telling people for years that sott is the one site that scares the bejeebies out of the PTB... otherwise, why would they suppress us? And, out of all the alt news sites, ONLY sott?
But nobody was believing me. I got endless lectures about how fair google was, how the algorithms worked, what we should do to maximize google presence and all that.
So, we did a lot of things, made all kinds of changes. And sometimes, after a change, I would catch a sott article as a first return. But then, I would go back a couple hours later, and it was buried. I guess that oughta make us feel real "speshul," to be suppressed by hand! Kinda like how speshul we felt when the Pentagon Strike Flash went wildly viral and flushed out the "anti-conspiracy theory" debunkers in the Washington Post, Popular Mechanics and Scientific American... who talked about everything except sott even though it was said in the WaPo that this little video single-handedly got the 9-11 Truth ball out of the gutter.
At the same time, all kinds of trash - even OLD trash - with no other links to it from anywhere - defaming me and sott, will appear on the first page of google if you search for my name.
Folks, I think we can safely conclude from this that google is, indeed, bought and paid for by the "National Security State" or the CIA or whoever, and they are the main instrument of suppression on the internet.

As SOTT is quite the only site to look for the real new and the truth about what is happening in our world, the PTB will do everything to hide and even SOTT.
Thank you very much to the SOTT team for what you are doing and please keep on doing it. WE DO NEED YOU.

With all this attack on the SOTT site and the attempts to "erase" it from the search sites like Google, this tells me that SOTT team is doing something right.

If I search on 'Wars Pestilence and Witches' in google , it is bringing this current article of 'disappeard', but the original article is not displaying. so they seems to be doing selective censoring than the blunt filtering. Too bad.

I just typed "Signs of the Times" in Google (I'm in the UK, so it may not be the same for the US) and the first four results are:
Signs of the Times
Commercial, residential and letterbox signs from manufacturer supplying cast signs in polyurethane, bronze and GRP.

Yep! The first hit is for a signs manufacturer. I bet they must be getting like a million hits a day... not! Only the fifth position is for SOTT.
Now lets try with "SOTT". The results are:
Signs of the Times

Yet again! I'm telling you that those sign makers must be really fashionable and making a lot of bucks, cause they STILL appear in first place, even when the term "SOTT" is NOT to be found in their page! Amazing! I wonder how they do it? Oh, btw, the 6th result is for Cassiopaea, but for the SOTT page, we only find it until position... let me see... position 22. That's right!
Now, something hilarious and annoying at the same time. Visit this pathetic site:

And tell me if it wasn't created for the sole purpose of discouraging potential visitors to the real SOTT.
There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Google is cheating on us.

...of those pathetic sites obviously created to annoy readers and make them desist from the idea of finding the real SOTT:
http: //www. signsofthetimes. org. uk/
You can tell that this one was actually created with the clear intention of ANNOYING the reader. I mean, the links to the "articles" move so you can't click on them; once you catch them you need to click some two or three more times to get to the article, which is cut into 23 different pages - each page composed of one paragraph or two - and you have to click on each and every one of them! Not to mention the horrible design.

well its true.... i just tried plain signs of the times , on the google search engine.. and i finally found this .:'signs-of-the-times-org.blogspot.com':. on page 19 , the first page that comes up is sott.com , and i really find it odd it is such a weird page it is really ugly graphically speaking , and it does feel like if it was just there to misdirect google searchers , cause to an uninspected look the URL seems so similar , and another odd feature of this site i myself have been there for a couple of times just because i write sott on the address bar of the browser , hit enter without entering the .net automatically puts the .com and bum! the odd site shows , anyhow i just visited it right now and it said you are the 0000001 visitor since 10/15/96[!!] off-course it could be just very poor HTML programers but it still why is such a bad site being put as the number 1 priority in google , isnt that weird? , in any event , truly an effort to make Sott.net not visible is being made by google cause if you try yahoo search sott.net is the second URL that comes up...so this shouldn't be a posibility anymore is a fact google or it's owners don't like SOTT.....

Doing a search for a photo of someone just today, I came across a link to an article very critical (and filled with half-truths and outright lies) of SOTT. The funny thing is, while my search was "conspiracy theory" related, I didn't see my search term actually showing up in the article. Interesting how an article critical of SOTT will show up in an image search on Google but an article from SOTT won't.

I would suggest doing some search engine optimization (SEO) on the signs website to get the rankings up. Some tweaking might actually take you down a different path in the indexing algorithm.

Anyone who has any real, valid, direct and objective views about reality will be called a conspiracy theorist. They (google..) do all they can to suppress objectivity. For the average person who recieves a kind of pitter pat pattern with how they are discerning reality, the pitter pat pattern is there to reduce their stirring in their slumber and puts them back to sleep.
What I mean is is that a person might get a glimpse of reality do a quick search and take in one, maybe two links and most often comes away with something that explains away the reality (truth) they felt they were observing/discerning. Like the intro in some of the podcasts:
"..there is a website to vector your thinking and attention and gets you thinking in ways they want you to think.." (not exact quote) [Link]Audio of the above quote.

Not satisfied with calling SOTT a 'cult' and its followers loons.... they are also trying to 'switch off' any ability and enquiring and potentially scientifically minded person has of checking facts (through Google).
How interesting. The PsTB must really have been hearing some interesting things about SOTT from what they call credible people in power. This just scares the pants off the PsTB.
Doing this could also backfire on them. Depends how its handled, I suppose. But intersting, none the less.

I did a search on google.be and the Sott website appears in fifth position.
The second position is The Quantum Future Group Sites Master Index.
The other articles don't come up in the first page but this one does.
So the filtering seems pretty localized osit.

Word of mouth is the solution. People telling other people and everyone bookmarking sott. People are not only hungry for the truth, many of them recognize it when they see it and tell their friends. That's why Secret History is selling so well we can't keep the bookstores in enough stock! They keep selling out! (The ones that will carry it, that is, which are NOT Barnes and Noble and other big chains that are controlled by the PTB.)

That is truly bad news when the only source of real information is deliberately blocked. The PTB sure are worried that the general public might get wind of some inconvenient facts and wake up to reality.
Keep on going SOTT, your site is a beacon of truth in an ocean of lies!

At 10th position it pulled up this line from ATS :-

You might find additional content on those search terms at this site search link....sending the searcher to one of their links. Very Strange.

I typed Thirty years of Cults and Comets and later Signs economic commentary for 28 January 2008 and both were at the top of the first page. I also typed the title of this article again at the top of the first page. I did not use apostrophs. I am searching from Turkiye - does that make a difference, I don't know.

If this isn't deliberate, is SOTT doing anything to "raise" it's rankings artificially? If so, this would cause the Google algorithm to reduce or remove the site from results. If not, maybe there is another page setup that is deliberately using the Google algorithm against SOTT! (Again, of course, if it isn't deliberate!)
Has SOTT contacted Google and made an inquiry as to why it isn't showing up in the search results? I would love to hear what they have to say about it.

I've done my own check on this and its true! Google
is using selective recognition on those articles that
does not fit some agenda it has. And it does all it can to redirect away from direct links to SOTT!
Conclusion:
SOTT is HIGH SIGNAL.
Google wants high noise with low signal.
Google wants to attenuate the signal and accentuate the noise.
I found this on 'signal to noise' ratio:
“If Vs (Signal) is less than Vn (noise), then S/N is negative. In this type of situation, reliable communication is generally not possible…”
“The S/N ratio can be increased by providing the source with a higher level of signal output power if necessary.”

As of now, Google has started to selectively censor SOTT because of its "owners" collaborative agendas. Yahoo on the other hand has not done so yet, or so it seems. So I wonder how long till other major search engines like Yahoo start following Google's lead of selectively censoring SOTT. My guess would be when the PTB takes measures to unofficially pressure them to.
