Over 20 people have reportedly died in flash flooding in Afghanistan over the last few days.
Detailed information on the current situation is difficult to find. However local and international media quoted officials from Afghanistan's Ministry for Disaster Management, saying that 22 people had died and 30 were injured in flash floods that had affected the provinces of Badakhshan, Herat, Badghis, Helmand, Takhar, Parwan, Kandahar, Wardag, Kunduz, Baghlan, Logar, and Juzjan.
Local media in Afghanistan reported flooding in Baghlan, Samangan and Parwan Provinces from around 02 May 2022. Four people died in Dahna Ghori district in Baghlan Province on 02 May. Eight people including children reportedly died in Shinwari district of Parwan Province on 03 May. Floods have damaged homes and crops in Samangan.
Firefighters and police rescued people from vehicles trapped in floods after a slow-moving storm brought very heavy rainfall to the Valencia Region in southeastern Spain on 03 May 2022.
AVAMET (Associació Valenciana de Meteorologia) said several locations in the city of Valencia recorded more than 200 mm of rain in 24 hours to 03 May 2022. The weather station at Camins al Grau in the city recorded 260.9 mm. Further heavy rainfall fell early on 04 May. Emergency Services 112 Valencia reported Algemesí municipality saw 70.4 m of rain in 4 hours early on 04 May.

A period of heavy rain from late April 2022 has caused severe flooding in the Mbeya and Songwe regions of southern Tanzania, where at least 5 people have died, 5 are missing and thousands have been displaced.
According to the Tanzania Red Cross, flooding has caused extensive damage in the districts of Rungwe and Kyela in Mbeya Region and Ileje in Songwe Region. Damages include 10,000 hectares of crops, water infrastructure such as drinking water wells, several roads and at least 4 bridges. Over 400 homes have been damaged and 318 completely destroyed. Other buildings including schools and religious buildings have also been damaged.
Communities in Kyela district have been particularly badly affected. Kyela local government authority reported 5 people had died, 21 were injured and 5 more are missing. More than 630 households (around 3,150 people) have been displaced and are staying in different evacuation sites including schools and public buildings.
At least 2 people have died and 1 is still missing after torrential rain caused severe flooding and landslides in Guadeloupe.
The prefecture government said heavy rain began to fall in areas including Le Gosier, Les Abymes and Pointe-à-Pitre during the early hours of 30 April 2022. By the evening over 300 mm of rain had fallen, which is more than during Hurricane Maria in 2017 according to the prefecture government. Météo-France reported 312 mm of rain in Leroux, Le Gosier; 312 mm in Le Raizet, Pointe-à-Pitre and 214 in Les Abymes.
Around 80 firefighters were mobilized and carried out dozens of interventions. Several roads were flooded, causing traffic chaos and forcing many drivers to abandon their vehicles.

Flooding continues in various municipalities in the south of Lake Maracaibo on northwestern Venezuela. A levee on the Zulia River broke during heavy rains, affecting cattle-raising and agricultural areas.
Heavy rainfall since mid-April has caused flooding in several states in Venezuela. President Nicolás Maduro announced the activation of the country's National Risk System on 26 April 2022 in order to deal with the situation.

Thousands of families have been affected by floods in Sur del Lago de Maracaibo sub-region in Zulia state. Swollen rivers and failing embankments led to flooding in the municipalities of Sucre, Francisco Javier Pulgar, Colón and Catatumbo from around 20 April 2022. Homes, roads, livestock and crops have all been damaged. As of 28 April the national government reported 4,000 families affected. The state government said several communities have been evacuated. Work has started on repairing river embankments and distributing relief supplies to affected communities.
Flooding from the Jari river has affected thousands of people in communities in the state of Amapá in northern Brazil.
Levels of the Jari river increased after heavy rainfall in the region over the last few weeks. The Amapá state government said the river reached 3.01 metres on 26 April, the highest level of the year so far.
According to officials, communities in the municipalities of Laranjal do Jari and Vitória do Jari have been affected by the flooding since mid-April. As of 26 April, the state government reported 16,152 people affected in Laranjal do Jari and 8,340 in Vitória do Jari. Federal government sources said over 220 families have been displaced.
State and federal government agencies are providing aid and relief supplies to communities in affected areas.
At least 20 people have died after heavy rain caused floods and landslides in areas of Rwanda and neighbouring parts of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DR Congo) over the last few days.

Local media quoting Ministry of Emergency Preparedness (MINEMA) said at least 11 people died and 13 were injured after heavy rain on 23 April caused flooding and landslides in several districts of the country. Damage to homes, roads and crops was also reported.
Affected areas included the districts of Nyamasheke (7 fatalities), Kicukiro (2), Gasabo (1), and Ngororero (1). Areas of Kayonza district suffered damage but no fatalities were reported.
At least 8 people have died and 4 are missing after heavy rain caused landslides and flooding in parts of Cundinamarca department in central Colombia . Meanwhile national authorities report severe weather has affected over 20,000 people across the country since the start of the recent rainy season.

The Governor of Cundinamarca, Nicolás Garcia, announced the declaration of public calamity for the whole of the Department in order to quickly respond to the effects of severe weather in recent days. In his statement of 23 April 2022, the governor said 85 municipalities out of 116 have been affected by severe weather since the start of the current rainy season.
The governor said, "We have decided to decree the public calamity in order to be able to attend immediately and provide faster technical support to each of the municipalities." The governor said that money will be provided to repair more than 90 roads.
