Immunological imprinting and resistance to the flu

The first strain of influenza a person contacts gives a sort of 'immunological imprinting' making them resistant to a whole family of similar strains and exposed to mismatched types of flu, a new study revealed.

The research published in the Science journal this week was based on 1,400 people who had been infected at any point in life with two stains of influenza A virus, H5N1 and H7N9.

Both are usually found in birds and only occasionally transmit to humans, but both are highly pathogenic and have high human mortality rates. Epidemiologists study animal strains of flu because the virus constantly mutates and a strain may unexpectedly become easily transmittable between humans and cause a pandemic.

The cases studied by scientists from the University of Arizona in Tucson and the University of California, Los Angeles were mostly from Asia and the Middle East, Science Daily reported. The researchers found that the two strains affected people either severely or mildly depending on which strain of human influenza they contacted first in childhood.

The explanation is that when an individual is fighting off flu, the immune system learns to produce antibodies specific to a protein called hemagglutinin. Such proteins shaped as mushrooms or lollipops cover the surface of a virus and help it attach to a cell and infect it with the viral genome.

Comment: Surprisingly, there was no mention of vaccination. Of course, naturally acquired immunity stands far above the fake artificial immunity that vaccine promoters claim is so useful.

Study finds: Traumatic stress changes brains of boys & girls differently

Traumatic stress affects the brains of adolescent boys and girls differently, according to a new brain-scanning study from the Stanford University School of Medicine.

Among youth with post-traumatic stress disorder, the study found structural differences between the sexes in one part of the insula, a brain region that detects cues from the body and processes emotions and empathy. The insula helps to integrate one's feelings, actions and several other brain functions.

The findings will be published online Nov. 11 in Depression and Anxiety. The study is the first to show differences between male and female PTSD patients in a part of the insula involved in emotion and empathy.

"The insula appears to play a key role in the development of PTSD," said the study's senior author, Victor Carrion, MD, professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Stanford.
"The difference we saw between the brains of boys and girls who have experienced psychological trauma is important because it may help explain differences in trauma symptoms between sexes."

New research, however, adds a biological reason why daytime workouts are better — and it has more to do with your body's circadian rhythm than your ability to fall asleep.

Your body is intricately in tune with daily cycles of light and darkness, right down to your muscles. Research by scientists at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois, revealed that muscles have their own internal clocks and, as a result, function better during the day than they do at night.1

What this means, practically speaking, is that your workout could yield different fitness results depending on the time of day, with daytime exercise being preferable to nighttime workouts.

A groundbreaking study published in 2013 in the journal Vaccine titled, "Comparison of virus shedding after lived attenuated and ​pentavalent reassortant rotavirus vaccine," referenced the fact that rotavirus vaccines contain live viruses capable of causing infection, shedding and even transmission to non-vaccinated subjects:
"In fact, transmission of these two rotavirus vaccines or vaccine-reassortment strains to unvaccinated contacts has been detected [9 - 13][1], even in the absence of symptoms."
One of the five studies referenced in the passage above confirming that the vaccinated can infect the non-vaccinated, "Sibling transmission of vaccine-derived rotavirus (RotaTeq) associated with rotavirus gastroenteritis," published in 2009, is the first report in the literature to identify the transmission of rotavirus vaccine-derived virus to unvaccinated contacts resulting in symptomatic rotavirus gastroenteritis requiring emergency medical attention:

The ability to cross the blood-brain barrier is what makes fluoride such a potent neurotoxin. Fluoride also disrupts collagen synthesis, and can damage your immune system by depleting energy reserves and inhibiting antibody formation in your blood.

Plumb, M.D.1 - a physician and fluoroquinolone victim -fluoroquinolone toxicity appears to be functional, not structural, as structural abnormalities are not typically seen on the radiological studies of patients with fluoroquinolone toxicity. Based on the available research, he cites the following four possible mechanisms of harm by fluoroquinolones:
  • Inhibition or disruption of the central nervous system GABA receptors
  • Depletion of magnesium and disruption of cellular enzyme function
  • Disruption of mitochondrial function and energy production

On May 12, 2008, Dr. Healy was interviewed on television by investigative reporter Sharyl Attkisson of CBS News. The interview below focused on the possible link between autism and vaccines. The first time I saw the interview, I could feel my jaw dropping. After all the repeated confirmations, promises, and assurances by U.S. health authorities and the mainstream medical community that there is no causal connection between vaccines and the rising epidemic of autism and autism spectrum disorders (ASD), there on video was a former director of NIH saying, "I think you can't say that.
