A dozen homes in LA were evacuated on Saturday night after the houses appeared to be on the verge of collapse and about to tumble into the canyon behind them. The foundations of homes situated along Peartree Lane in Rolling Hills Estates in LA County suddenly shifted following a major landslide.

Police, fire and utility company officials were on the scene Sunday to assist with the evacuation, which saw a total of 16 residents being forced to flee their homes.

The residents had 20 minutes to gather their things and get out, officials warned before access was restricted.

Bali, Indonesia experienced severe weather conditions from 07 to 09 July 2023, leading to devastating impacts on the region. Heavy rainfall resulted in widespread flooding, while strong winds downed trees and damaged buildings. Furthermore, the heavy rain falling on unstable ground triggered numerous landslides, exacerbating the destructive effects of the weather.

The Bali Province Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) reported a total of 78 incidents, including landslides, fallen trees, and floods, across several affected areas. These areas included Badung, Bangli, Buleleng, Denpasar, Gianyar, Jembrana, Karangasem, Klungkung, and Tabanan.

As a result of the severe weather, approximately 50 homes were damaged, and around 50 individuals were displaced from their residences, according to the ASEAN Disaster Information Network (ADINet). The impact of the disaster extended to a total of 192 people, who were directly affected by the floods, landslides, and other related incidents.

Skardu's famed tourist spot, Deosai, has received unexpected snowfall in the past few days, giving the warm month of July a feel of winter.

Local authorities say that this is the first time it has snowed in Skardu in July in the last 18 years.

Temperatures have dropped in the Skardu valley and everything in sight is covered in white.

While the snowfall was unexpected, it has turned into a surprising delight for tourists hoping for a summer get away.

A slow-moving storm system brought heavy rain across a wide section of New York State on Sunday evening, flooding streets, prompting dozens of rescues for drivers whose vehicles were stranded on inundated roads and causing at least one death, the authorities said.

The Hudson Valley was the most affected by the storm system on Sunday, with sections of the area getting between five and eight inches of rain, the National Weather Service said.

The epicenter of the storm struck West Point, the U.S. Military Academy in Orange County, which had about eight inches of rain as of Sunday night.

Trooper Steven V. Nevel of the New York State Police described the search-and-rescue efforts on Sunday night as an "all hands on deck" endeavor, saying that several bridges had collapsed and many roads were impassable.

In a staggering scene, thousands of fish floated in the Al-Ezz River in the southeastern Iraqi governorate of Maysan due to water scarcity and the high level of salinity.

Social media activists shared videos of fish deaths with angry comments about the situation in their areas because of water scarcity.

The local authorities in Maysan announced on Saturday that they had monitored the deaths of fish in the Al-Ezz River, warning of serious diseases at the same time.

At least 17 persons died in Uttar Pradesh in the last 24-hours due to lightning strikes. There have been more rain-related deaths as well - five due to heavy rains and 12 due to drowning, office of the relief commissioner said.

One person each died due to lightning in Baghpat, Etawah, Unnao, Agra and Ballia, two each in Jalaun, Kanpur Dehat, Kannauj and Ghazipur and four in Mainpuri. One person died in Sant Kabir Nagar, two in Badaun, four in Bareilly and five in Rae Bareli due to drowning in water. One person each died in Etah, Kannauj and Kaushambi, and two in Muzaffarnagar due to excessive rains.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has condoled the loss of lives due to lightning, drowning in water and heavy rains in the state. He has given instructions to immediately distribute the assistance amount of Rs. 4 lakh each to the dependents of the deceased.

The blinding flash left one woman with severe burns, officials said, during a sudden thunderstorm over Kolomna, 75 miles southeast of Moscow.

Footage showed people wading through a deluge of rainwater before an immediate bolt appeared to shoot down, visibly terrifying those in the vicinity and causing some to fall over in shock.

The bolt is said to have hit an electric scooter first before the woman was also struck after standing nearby. She was seen being carried through the floodwater with clear signs of blackening from the lightning.

The distraught woman was rushed to intensive care at a nearby hospital. She is in a stable condition.
