Location of Sighting: East Sussex, Shoreham
Date of Sighting: 23rd May 2010
Time: 9:30pm

Witness Statement: I was standing in the back garden on this date and heard a low rumbling coming from the East. At first I thought it was thunder as I heard dogs barking in the distance and a number of car alarms going off but the rumblings continued for too long, without any breaks as thunder does and it was a very clear sky. The rumblings continued and so I went to my upstairs window to see if I could see any lightning, What I did see however was 3 very bright orange lights traveling single file in formation at a consistent speed up into the sky. As they continued their flight path the rumblings became louder, it was the strangest thing I have ever seen. There were no white navigation lights so I knew they weren't planes, they weren't traveling like a helicopter either.

I called my wife up to have a look and we watched these lights get to a height you would normally see a light aircraft get to then stop in perfect formation in the sky, pulsing white light. Then the highest light shot up into the sky at an incredible speed and completely disappeared, the second continued to hover then flew fast back in a straight line towards the East and the third then shot off out to sea. Then the rumblings stopped. I have seen chinese lanterns before and it looked nothing like them, plus lanterns are silent, did anyone else witness this??

I also witnessed a very bright stationary light in the west a couple of weeks ago around midnight that was too bright to be a star, hovering with the same low rumblings like thunder, then shot off upwards at high speed disappearing. This was bright white though not orange!
