OF THE
TIMES
I've had enough of someone else's propaganda. I'm for truth, no matter who tells it. I'm for justice, no matter who it's for or against. I'm a human being first and foremost, and as such I am for whoever and whatever benefits humanity as a whole.
Sadly, the next time it will be the same. Most people will do whatever they are told, whatever the consequences. In a way, I think there are...

"During more emotional moments, the insula, which is part of the brain's empathy-relevant network, can inhibit the part of the brain that helps a person see someone else's perspective."
I found this article refreshing. In the day and age of promoting blind empathy, where people feel sorry and listen but don't really relate, this is gold.
I'm not saying that super empathetic people are blind. I'm saying that their own brains make them feel good for being empathetic, depending on society/upbringing and so on. It's not as good for results in helping people when you can empathize with a feeling but not know the context! In fact, it is kind of phony in a way- and there was a spirit release person who I knew who actually fed on these emotions of people as we learned on the forum!
In this society, it is valued to listen to someone's story or feel bad for someone and NOT offer solutions, because that would be called insensitive (even if it is done in a nice manner). In the case of the SRT, he was just amplifying the emotion, making a feedback loop of emotions.
When someone emphasizes with me and just listens, I feel like it's more a validation of my feelings than helping me to see what I might be seeing or feeling in a wrong manner (if that is the case). I see the same when I try to empathize with myself instead of challenge myself to be better.
I really do think it's cultural too, because some cultures/families have a different approach like mentioned in the article and it was quite refreshing to experience. Same with the sott.net forums.
