A sinkhole opened up on Chestnut Street in Colorado Springs Monday night.

The sinkhole was the size of one entire driving lane forcing officials to close Chestnut between Vondelpark Drive and Ellston Street. That's near I-25 and Fillmore Street, by the Douglas Creek Open Space.

Colorado Springs Police told KRDO-TV the sinkhole was about 10 feet deep.

Colorado Springs Utilities said no gas or water lines were damaged by the sinkhole.
