A student and several other people were attacked by a fox outside an East Windsor school Monday.

A reverse 911 call was sent out to warn people about the incident. The fox was put down by police. It's believed it was rabid based on its behavior but tests were done.

Victims say that fox just wouldn't go away, running around the neighborhood and attacking. The first attack happened at 8:30 Monday morning on Church Street then at around 10 a.m., the fox attacked again on Mill Street.

Finally, the animal made its way to Broad Brook Elementary School on Rye Street and that's where he was ultimately caught.

Jerry Banks opened up his garage door and the fox went at him. It was so aggressive the attack lasted for about five minutes.

"I didn't know what to do. No matter what I did he kept coming back and coming back," said Jerry Banks, East Windsor.

"Kept kicking it, and the fox kept attacking him and in turning around he fell and that is when then fox got him on the hand," said Violet Banks, East Windsor.

Finally the fox took off around the corner and an hour later it attacked Danielle and Hernen on their front porch. They had just gotten engaged and were going out to celebrate.

"I have never experienced an animal that when you scare it, it keeps coming back and coming back, it almost came in the house and I kicked it," said Danielle Bopko, East Windsor .

From there it went to the Broad Brook Elementary School where it attacked a boy out playing during gym class. Two teachers also got bit while they were defending the children and trying to catch the fox. By then, there were five victims.

"The paramedics and ambulance that took us in were like... we are back again, we just brought more people," said Hernan Quintanilla, East Windsor.

Finally the teachers were able to trap the fox inside a recycle bin before more kids got hurt.

"I am very proud of of the teachers. They did a brave thing to catch the fox so the animal control could do what they had to do," said Amanda Balbi, East Windsor.
