What follows is an approximate transcription of the interview.
Press TV: What do you make of this? Does this basically show there is an escalation of the situation in Ukraine when we see now it appears that the FBI and the CIA are directly involved?
Barrett: Well I am afraid the CIA has been involved for quite some time. The CIA director [John] Brennan did visit Ukraine in mid-April to consult with this coup government.
I think to understand what is happening in the Ukraine we need to put this in historical context. We need to understand that the CIA has overthrown dozens of governments around the world since World War II and that's what happened in Ukraine. It was another CIA coup just like the coup that overthrew prime minister Mosaddeq in Iran in 1953, coup that overthrew President Allende in Chile in 1971-1973 and so many others.
And we also need to look at this in the context of the attempt to build a one-world empire. The notion that the US and the West are just another geopolitical player on the world scene may come true someday but right now the fact is that these people are trying to take over the world.
John Perkins in his book Confessions of an Economic Hit Man reveals that he was working for this program run by the international bankers who are the real powers behind the scenes in the West to create a world-straddling empire using the power of usury that is world bank loans and financial takeovers all over the world backed up by military power.
So this is an aggressive attempt to seize the Ukraine by way of a US-sponsored coup and that is why the CIA is in Kiev right now consulting with their puppet government.
Press TV: Dr. Barrett, let's talk about Russia now. According to what you have just said that it says they are basically trying to take over the world, Russia's role on this?
On the one hand Russia has been allied with the United States since the fall of the Soviet Union. So now with this situation being right on its borders what do you think, what is the role that Russia you think will play now in the middle of all of this, reactions from Moscow?
Barrett: Russia is coming back to its senses. When the Cold War ended the Russians allowed global organized crime to seize the assets of this enormous country and I believe it was six of the seven top organized crime billionaires in Russia, the so-called oligarchs, are dual Israeli citizens.
These people along with their global organized crime allies in the so-called New World Order tried to get complete control of the wealth of the Soviet Union turning it into a failed state and essentially loot the entire country.
Now President Putin represents the forces in Russia that want to resist this New World Order, global organized crime world takeover attempt and it seems there have been some success.
Press TV: Do you think that President Putin will be actually successful at what you have just said he is trying to do?
Barrett: Well things seem to be turning around. The same forces that overthrew the government of Ukraine tried to overthrow the government of Syria and failed.
Their attempt in Ukraine seems to have been stymied at least in part by the wishes of so many people in eastern side of Ukraine so I think this world takeover attempt may be slowing down or stalling and I wish President Putin and the other forces who are standing against this all over the world best of luck and may God bless you and protect you.
