Don't people understand that reproduction of an entire article on another site is actually a good thing? I can't count the number of times I read content on one web site, which then turned me on to those sites from which the content originated.
Furthermore, when people reproduce your content and link back to your site, search engines see this and make a note of it. To them, that means the content is worthy of being reproduced and spread around - but the credit in terms of ranking goes to the originating site.
If that site (like Sott.net in this case) appears first in Google rankings, and the originating site's article link is lower, that means that Sott.net is considered more popular/important by Google. So the LAST thing anybody should do is demand that the more important site (in search engines' eyes) take down content!
