Yeah, we know "yield" is misspelled... but does Sparks?

UPDATE: The misspelled signs along Vista Boulevard have been fixed to properly spell "yield."

Sparks, Nevada - Construction on the expansion of Vista Boulevard into Spanish Springs is well underway. If you drive it we don't have to tell you about the lower speed limits, cones, and construction equipment. There is one sign you may have missed, but we suspect you'll "yield" to it anyway.

Just past Los Altos Parkway is one of two signs along Vista Boulevard that tells drivers to Yield to bike riders. However, yield is spelled "Yeild." Down the road about another mile is the second sign, E before I.

"I didn't notice it, I didn't but spelling is really important," says Debbie Brockhoff. Brockhoff lives in the area and owns Isabel's Bakery just down the street from the signs on Vista.

In her line of work she says you can't misspell anything. Baking and decorating cakes for some of the biggest events in a person's life, she says, people have a real thing about getting it right.

"We do not want anything misspelled. It's important to get it out the right way," says Brockhoff.

This isn't the first time we've shown you signs spelled incorrectly, you may remember a gaffe in Sparks about two years ago, when school was misspelled "scool." Particularly embarrassing as it let drivers know about a school zone, a lesson for everyone.

A call to Q&D Construction, who is responsible for the signs and the widening of the road, proved fruitful.

They said they'd be right out and fix it. But, they better hurry. When construction is complete here even more drivers will see the misspellings.
