The UFO Traffic Report for Monday, April 20, includes 12 cases over 10 states, according to witness statements filed with the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database.

Please keep in mind that many UFO reports can be explained as something natural or manmade. If MUFON investigates and reports back on any of these cases, I will update this page. You can read my selected cases by type of UFO report at the UFO Traffic Report main page.

Witnesses may report directly to me here on specific cases, but I request that everyone please report their UFOs at the MUFON.com web site so that the body of evidence can be studied. Thanks to the many witnesses who followed up with me here, and to those who have shared past memories of UFO cases. We have a staff of illustrators who can create graphic representations to your stories.

We start today in New York state, where a witness noticed a very reflective object on April 16, 2009, that was the size of a quarter in the night sky.
New York, April 16 - Quarter size object in sky, very reflective moved upward diagonally up and out of view.

I was outside on patio grilling, observing unusually clear sky when noticed very shiny round object about the size of a quarter appear in the sky. It moved slightly up and diagonally. The entire time it did this it got smaller in the sky (same shiny reflective appearance) I went in the house to get binoculars to view object better. Upon my returning to the patio object was no longer in view. Occurred in under 3 minutes. I scanned for object with binoculars but saw nothing. As a side note, I did see several planes right before and after seeing object. The object DWARFED them in the sky.
Also over New York skies, this report from April 16 was of a silent V-shaped object with five lights on each side. As we have been reporting, this witness also observed a kind of odd transparency to the object.
New York, April 16 - Inverted V, five lights on each side similar to visible stars, moving as one object.

I was laying on the grass looking at the stars when movement grabbed my attention. It was difficult to process what exactly I was seeing at first but then I got a focus on it. The object was and inverted V with the point traveling forward. The object was difficult to focus on because it was made up of five (5) individual lights on each side, they appeared as though they were stars that would be visible with the naked eye. It moved as a whole object at a very odd speed, it appeared to slide across the sky with no resistance whatsoever, it was unlike anything I have ever seen as far as objects in flight. It also appeared to be transparent because I couldn't distinguish between the night sky and the object other then the lights moving in the inverted V pattern. From my perspective the object had to have been relatively low in the sky based off of its size (spacing between the lights as the basis of the objects size) yet there was no audible noise to be heard. It moved in the northwest direction and disappeared out of sight, almost as if it were two dimensional. Seeing this shook me up a little bit because nothing about it seemed normal, it was very difficult to believe my eyes and I doubt I would have if someone else hadn't seen it as well and been equally shaken by what was seen. This was my first time seeing anything like this and I was never a believer or a skeptic prior to this, I think that's why the event bothered me so much.
In Burnsville, Minnesota, a witness watched as six lights formed a circle in the sky.
Minnesota, April 15 - There where six bright lights in a circle perfectly aligned hovering and able to be seen through the clouds.

A friend of mine and I where sitting out by her house stargazing on a hillside by her town home complex in Burnsville Minnesota. The clouds where starting to move in, so I was not hoping to see many constellations. As we sat talking I began to notice six dim lights in the sky in the shape of a hallow. It was very clear that they made up some sort of a disc hovering in the air. At first I thought that maybe they where just stars peaking through the clouds, but as the clouds kept moving in I noticed that the lights did not leave. Though they where slightly dimmer. They seemed to be within the clouds. For a moment I figured that they could be spotlights. However there where no beams of light shining up into the sky. At this point I asked my friend if she saw that halo too. She in fact did. We watched it for almost half an hour until it finally started to dim. Eventually I could no longer see the lights and lost track of the object. Not once did the object move. Though I do believe that at some points it could have. However my eyes are not so great and I have issues with lights. Neither of us wanted to leave the hillside and miss the event and neither of us had any recording device available, so we where unable to record it.

The entire time I had no idea what to think. I am still slightly frightened and even embarrassed (surprisingly) that it happened. I do not want people thinking that I am crazy and if their are any other explanations I would be happy to hear them.
Another fire ball incident in the skies - this time over Arizona on April 17, described as "fiery green."
Arizona, April 17 - Fiery green ball.

At approximately 12:45 am, I saw a a large fiery green ball streak across the sky in my backyard. It appeared to have crash landed about a mile east of my home. Within 2 minutes, a helicopter with blinking red lights and one solid blue light appeared and began circling an area of about one square mile east of my home and continued to hold this pattern for at least 30 minutes. I drove my car toward the area where the crash could have occurred, all the while watching the helicopter continue on it's path, but there were no signs of a crash, fire, or emergency services response. As I write this, it is 1:30 am and the helicopter is still circling in the same pattern, without a searchlight on I might add.
The next case is a silent, bright red light flying low over Virginia skies - with photo.

Virginia, April 12 - Bright red silent light flying very low.

I had just walked to my back door to have a cigarette on the back deck and I noticed a very bright red light traveling up the mountain right behind my house.

Originally, I thought it was the brake lights of a car traveling very fast up the road on the mountain. Then I realize that the light was not on the road when it traveled straight up very fast to the top of the mountain and was still heading higher. At this time, I yelled for my daughter to come outside and see what I was looking at. She knew before she ever got outside what it was because we have had other sightings in the last year from our back deck. When she came out the light began to travel towards us.

This was the first time that we both actually got a little nervous because it just kept coming closer to us just above the tree tops. I ran in to grab my camera and ran back out and it was still there just hovering about 100 yards away still above the tree tops. The light was extremely bright and the object made no noise. I took the picture and the flash went off on my camera. We then realized that the ducks down at the creek behind our house were quacking very loud and the dogs in the neighborhood were all barking.

After, I took the picture and the flash went off the light seemed to began to vanish right before our eyes. I couldn't tell if the object was getting smaller, moving away, or just disappearing. Within a matter of seconds the light had completely disappeared before us and then ducks and dogs seemed to quiet instantly. From where we were standing on the back deck if we were to hold up a quarter that would be about how big the light was. We continued to stay outside looking for it for about another 15 minutes but didn't see anything more.

We have had other sightings including crafts zooming over the mountain stopping and hoovering while changing colors then disappearing and a single bright white light that flew over our house very low then returned a few minutes later to disappear right above us. This particular white light was a triangular, silent, silhouette. I have attached the picture I took with my Cannon PowerShot A410. The light was a lot closer, larger and brighter than what my camera picked up. Maybe someone can zoom in on the light in the picture and get more detail about the object.
In Minnesota on April 14, a witness reported two circle or disc-shaped objects at just above the tree tops and a "light humming sound." We don't usually get sound reports from UFOs. Most reports state that the object was silent. I follow this report with a Maryland case where a "constant humming" sound was emitted.
Minnesota, April 14 - It was a disc like flying object with 6 dull green lights around the bottom.

I was driving home and I saw a flashing light, once I got home I was standing outside of my car, talking to a friend. Then I looked up and saw two circle, disc shaped objects flying just above the tree tops. They had 6 dull green lights around the base and flew slowly. They were very quiet, but had a light humming sound. Once they passed, I didn't see them again.
This Maryland report describes a "large shadow" in the sky and was a "black diamond, boomerang shape" - with a constant humming sound.
Maryland, April 16 - Finacee woke me up @ 3am to hear a strange noise from sky.

I was dead asleep @ 3am-ish on April 16th 2009. My finacee woke me up to hear what I thought at first was a street sweeper. I told her to go back to bed but she insisted I get up and look out side. I admit at first I was sure it was a street sweeper a couple streets over it was a very dull humming like a electrical transformer. I looked out the window on my side of the bed...nothing I walked to the front room facing our street nothing. The sound kept a stationary volume. I told her it had to be a street sweeper. So I walked over to her side of the bed and looked out the window for sure I would see some sort of sweeper or utility truck a street or two over between the houses..nothing and the sound yet stayed stationary at what seemed to be just over our house to the wood line. That area of the sky is pretty dark but kinda against the sky which was slightly cloudy I could make out this very seemingly large shadow or just black diamond boomerang shape looking thing drifting over the tree line and the humming..I can't get over the humming..no visible lights nothing just blackness and a ever constant humming I didn't want to alarm my fiancee so I told her nothing was there it must have been a sweeper a couple of streets over. I don't know how to take this. We live around a lot of military type bases in Maryland so that was my first though but I never have seen or in-countered a sound like that.I don't know...I'm puzzled I'm not sure if this has anything to do with this but I felt a little weird after that and seen my Dr. the next day with pains in my back and chest. I wasn't feeling the best before but the next day I felt very strange never the less maybe it's nothing.
Three orb-shaped objects were observed by a California witness on April 16.
California, April 16 - 3 orb shaped objects flying over home in Crocker Amazon District.

I happened to be outside in my backyard at 9pm having a smoke and when I looked up at the stars and immediately saw three orbs that flew from south to north direction. They were about at the height of a helicopter and the three orbs were flying in a slight triangular formation, but not fully in sync as one or two would wobble out of formation briefly.

Clearly, I knew it was not an aircraft with no flashing lights. I see planes fly above from SFO everyday and the orbs were white, but not a star-bright type of light nor were they twinkling.

I knew immediately as I saw them that they were not birds or planes or even a comet or shooting star and they produced no noise. I've seen the difference of all of that at night and I am also not a big firm believer in UFOs, but still don't know what I saw in those three orbs.
On April 17 over Evanston, Illinois, four lights were observed "moving together" about 3,000 feet or less - with two lights tailing the object.
Illinois, April 17 - 6 UFO lights moving north over Evanston.

At 9:40 pm I ( 48 year old professional) was arriving home from picking my daughter up in Evanston. Just prior to pulling the car into the garage, my 11 year old yelled from the back seat " oh Crap- dad.. a UFO" She was out of the car. I thought perhaps she was just joking. I got out of my vehicle to open the garage door as my remote was unresponsive. I looked up over head and slightly north and observed four lights moving together northward. They appeared to be about 3000 feet or less if they were the size commonly on aircraft. The sky was very clear tonight as I could make out the big dipper immediately between me and the moving lights. They were in a somewhat linear arrangement, like orion and a fourth light positioned left of the lead light. I then hollered for my friend and son to come out and see this. I then notice two other lights trailing the four lights, but moving in a irregular, somewhat elliptical fashion across the sky. By elliptical I do not mean long sweeping arch, but short, tightly curved sweeps across the sky. My friend (a 53 year old professional) and my 13 year old son both observed the lights moving across the sky and the additional two trailing lights. We all agreed it was not a jet or jets. No sound was heard. The lights were white and steady. After five minutes or perhaps slightly less, the lights were so small we were no longer able to visually track them. My daughter having the closest look thought the four light were together on a single unit, appearing somewhat invisible. Like a big shape of four lights stuck together, but could not see the platform, but the lights kept rotating.

I have observed many satellites at night. They were not satellites.. they were too near in the local sky and not moving in a precise linear arch. They were not commercial jets, however. I am confident that they would have appeared on the ORD - Chicago radar control as they were in Class controlled airspace.
More reports of orange lights in the sky - this time over Michigan, as these lights moved west to east.
Michigan, April 17 - Orange glowing light moving west to east.

I was sitting in my backyard around 10:30p the night of Friday April 17, 2009 with a good friend and my 15 year-old son. I happened to glance upward to the north and noticed a bright orange glowing light quickly traversing the sky from west to east. All three of us watched the object as it gradually slowed and wobbled slightly in its course, flickered and dulled a bit and then moved due east until it disappeared on the eastern horizon.

I am curious if any other Monroe county or neighboring community member witnessed the sight. It definitely was not a plane. The color was distinctively orange and there were no flashing lights. It was also larger in diameter and lower in the sky than a plane or satellite. The sky was very clear and the temperature around 58 degrees. My guess is it was a meteor. However, the length of time in the sky as well as change of speed and course did leave us curious.

My son did attempt to record the incident with his cell phone but I am not sure how successful he was as I have yet to view the video.
A single white object was report over Georgia on April 18 in this report.
Georgia, April 18 - Single white object with occasional strobes that moved unlike any conventional fixed wing aircraft or chopper.

At 400 Ponce De Leon, the Al Yaarab Shriner Temple, at around 9pm waiting for the traffic to clear out after a rollerderby bout, looking north from the parking lot towards Piedmont Park my daughter (age 12) and I noted this object that we thought was a chopper taking off from the hospital. I realized there is no hospital in that direction as my daughter asked why it didn't blink. The object rose diagonally to the east, dropped came to a halt and moved back west and became brighter. From our vantage point it appeared to never go above the skyline or break the cloud ceiling. As it continued a short distance west it climbed, and grew brighter. It was then that I asked a group of people talking nearby if they would tell me if what I was seeing was real. One of them said it was a chopper and then had to quickly withdraw that opinion when the craft dropped down and east and appeared to flicker and vanish. The initial sighting was around a minute long.

Then we joined the group in looking at the sky in that direction and making wise cracks to one another about spacemen. About 3 - 5 minutes passed and it appeared again low in the sky and began to rise straight up and list from side to side. People were saying it must be a bunch of balloons maybe, or a large kite. Then the object moved very suddenly and rapidly to what appeared to be the north. It just seemed to get smaller and dimmer and be heading away from our POV. It rose and moved west and we lost site of it from a car pulling into the lot we were in and hitting us in the face with their headlights.

Again, talk of what that object could have been arose. Not a hot air balloon. Not an RC chopper/plane. No FAA lights. Halting and suddenly moving, not enough wind to carry a kite or push balloons around. Very strange. We were all getting a little anxious as more people joined in who had been other parts of the lot and seen the same thing.

There was air traffic overhead. But all were easily identified. Jets passing through the cloud ceiling. Blinking lights. We saw a helicopter. All of these other things in the sky were making this one even more odd.

It returned a third time after about 5 - 7 minutes. This time coming in low from the west and gradually growing larger and brighter. Again, it was perceived to be approaching. A passerby was stopped and shown the object that he identified also as a chopper and then also had to correct himself. That's no chopper, what is that? Exactly. We watched for a minute as the object continued to move erratically and do things no plane or swamp gas could ever do. A commercial liner was flying in what to us looked to be the direction of the object but at the height of the clouds so we could see it moving in and out and its silo and know that object was a jet. As it came closer to the object the steady glow became a strobe briefly and it dropped straight down then moved east and accelerated and climbed.

We all were completely blown away by the last sighting and the group of about 10 were still scanning the sky to the north. There were a couple who insisted it be a chopper or maybe something else, but what? They couldn't say. Everyone else was awestruck at what we think we had just been witness to. It really was a flying object that could not be identified with any amount of certainty by anyone who saw it.
And finally today, a white disc-shaped object over Colorado in this report.
Colorado, April 19 - While driving I saw a white disc shaped object

I had just left Littleton, CO headed for Ft. Collins. I was driving north on University Blvd. and as I looked north above the treeline in the sky probably 35 to 45 degrees off the horizon something caught my eye. I couldn't really get a good look at it for long enough before the road dipped and the object was obstructed by trees. By the time the trees were no longer in the way I looked in the same spot and couldn't see anything. I wasn't sure what I had seen until about another mile up the road I looked up the same area and I saw it again but this time it had moved probably five to ten miles westward. I stared at it as much as I could while driving trying to decipher what it could be. From my viewpoint, its apparent shape was that of a disc, but the object was probably 1500 to 2000 feet up in the air and at least a mile away from me, so it could have been a triangle or cylinder shape etc. At first it appeared white against the blue sky, and it was slowing moving Northwest. But as it passed under a small group of clouds, it appeared to almost camouflage itself with its background. It blended with the color of the clouds, and then as it passed back onto the blue background of sky again it appeared to look blue. I couldn't keep my eye on it the entire time because I was driving and there was no one else in the car to watch. I looked at the road and then looked back and it was moving away very fast, it grew smaller and then it was gone. It was a very clear day and there weren't many clouds in the sky. I am one hundred percent convinced that it was not a plane or jet or helicopter of any kind, it did not have the normal flight characteristics that you would find in our known earthly arsenal. Afterward I saw a lot of activity in the area in the sky, but I'm not sure if the planes in the area were commercial planes or military planes or what. I have read a lot on the subject of UFOs but this is my first personal experience seeing anything and I would like to know if anyone else saw it.
