Some rather unusual UFO reports this week from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) reporting database includes four New Jersey witnesses who could not explain up to 30 objects in the sky over a three-hour period on April 2.

What first appeared to be a shooting star over Arizona skies took a witness there by surprise on March 20, when he then observed a white object that shot up into the sky and disappeared, only to be followed by another object moving parallel to the ground. He describes this and other sightings over a 15-minute period, including a white ball that turned red with a green fuzzy area around it. He is also not sure why his submitted photos look different than what he observed with the naked eye.

A routine trip for a septic tank employee to a field in Desdemona, Texas, on Feb. 5, turned alarming, when he took a second look at what he first thought was the planet Venus. The man first saw three, round, orange lights - flashing in a pattern - and then up to six lights appeared, forming the shape of a triangle over a three to four-minute period.

A man driving along Highway 70 outside of Pima, Arizona, on April 2, pulled over to get a better look at unusual lights that were appearing and then fading in the night sky. He observed that a dark object was blocking out his view of a piece of the sky, and guessed its size to be between 300 to 400 feet, silent, and 1,000 feet off of the ground. He also reasoned that others not taking quite so close a look, might not notice the fact that a piece of the sky was blocked out, if they were only focusing on the lights.

Other recent UFO traffic reports include a couple near Monterey Park, California, on March 27, who tracked four, silent, bright light objects in the sky - one of them later splitting into three lights. In Colorado on April 3, a group of witnesses watched as several disc-shaped lights beamed light to the ground. In Texas on Feb. 26, a witness reports two, red, circular orbs drifting south, low in the night sky. A round, glowing object 90 feet off of the ground at first looked like it was on fire with a three-foot tail, according to a Virginia witness on April 4. A Georgia witness on April 3, described a shiny, silver, silent object with no jet stream or no wings. A star-like object was described by a Pennsylvania witness on April 4. A California witness on April 2, was not sure if he was seeing three lights in formation or lights that were part of a single object over Monterey Bay and Santa Cruz. And finally, a New York witness on April 3 observed something in a square shape with four lights and a single light in the middle.

Some of these reports are under investigation by MUFON, and I will offer field investigation conclusions if there is a follow-up. Please remember that many UFO reports can be explained as natural occurrences or manmade.

The following reports are unedited from the MUFON sightings database. If you have seen a UFO report, please go to MUFON.com and make a report.

New Jersey , April 2, 2009 - initial appearence of large number of low flying airplanes but unfamilliar light pattern and silent when passing overhead

I had just returned to Cape May court house from my college located in Mays Landing. I went to Arby's to pick up three of my friends and on our way back to my car we noticed an extremely bright light coming directly toward us.

We were very alarmed at the brightness of the light and how low it was flying. All four of us stood outside my car and speculated on what kind of aircraft it was and it wasn't until it flew directly overhead that we suspected it may be something other than a conventional airplane. And it certainly wasn't a helicopter either because as it passed overhead it made absolutely no sound whatsoever.

What was even more interesting was when we noticed a second much smaller lighted craft that was traveling above the first craft at a 45 degree upwards angle traveling at exactly the same speed. The second craft had to be very small because it was not until the first craft flew directly overhead that we even noticed there was a second craft of some kind traveling above and behind the first craft.

I know they were traveling at the same speed because the separation between them did not change. During this part of the event, we began to notice a great many more very similar looking craft flying EVERYWHERE we looked. This continued for over 3 hours and we had been traveling to various parts of the county throughout the night so it was not simply relegated to one area.

These craft almost seemed to be tracking something, but if it wasn't for the first sighting we would have probably just thought they were low flying planes that were searching the area for something. I estimate sighting a craft about 30 times in the 3 hour period, but then we began to see the same type of craft when three of the four of us present during the original sighting began to see the same types of vehicles floating silently about the sky.

This sighting took place in two places. The first was the Wildwood Villas, and here is where we witnessed many different strangely lit craft all scouring the area, and most peculiarly we witnessed a very bright white point of light hovering at about a 30-40 degree angle from our line of sight, and I'd say no more than 10-15 miles from where we stood. It was very low to the ground and considering the blanket of cloud cover over the area I find it difficult to believe it was a star or Venus. Not to mention when we watched it eventually begin to move as the other craft did, but not before yet another of the silent craft flew directly overhead.

Then we left the Villas and I took my friends back to their house in Whitesboro. There were the same flashing lights as before, only this time it looked as though the object was either two very closely approximated craft with the same light pattern, or one craft that was very rapidly shifting position. The lights appeared in one spot one second, and then seemingly defying the laws of physics the light would move 1 or 2 degrees to the left or right making it seem...you know what? I have no idea what to make of it.

It was so unusual, and I would love to know what that and all the other craft in the sky really were. Then as quickly as they had appeared, the craft were gone and I did not see any more for the remainder of the evening. I wish my cell phone camera didn't have problems adjusting the light level enough to take a picture of what I was seeing.

It was almost as though these craft were making an attempt to imitate commercial aircraft light patterns but terrestrial craft do not A: share such incredibly close airspace such as the very first sighting out in front of Arby's because of the very real danger of a midair collision. B the second smaller craft tracking the first was too small to even be an aircraft, and C aircraft and helicopters are not silent. I hope this report is detailed enough, but I would be surprised if you've received any other reports because of the flashing light pattern that could easily be explained away by saying they're merely low level aircraft.

My friends and I however were lucky enough to get an overhead fly by and what we saw did not add up to anything that we have seen before. I live directly under multiple flight paths and I have seen planes and helicopters in the skies over my head for my entire life. This was not a plane. I have not asked my friends if they wish to publicly talk of this, but I am sure they will all anonymously confirm my report. But out of respect for them and their privacy I need to find out if I have their consent.

If this is of significant interest you may contact me and I can most likely set up an interview with one or more of them. Two more things. I am unsure if there were actual planes in the area, because there were so many countless lights in the sky all flying in nondescript flight paths, so for the questions below I am going to say that some of these had to be airplanes because of the part of airspace my county sits underneath.

Finally during the second night as the rapidly shifting lights on the craft flew overhead I was overcome with a very acute pain and stiffness in my right leg. This continued when I got back in my car and until shortly after I left. Yet unlike the first night, I was not as worried or afraid. By the time I got home, I was filled with an overwhelming sense of calm and serenity as though I had no reason to fear what I saw.

My one friend seemed very frightened however. So much so that after the second night of sightings, he said he, "wasn't touching that one." He didn't want to continue speculating on the objects origin or intentions in any way shape or form.

March 20, 2009 - Arizona, Thought it was a large shooting star but soon determined it was very different.

On Friday March 20, 2009 shortly before eight pm I went outside to look at the sky. To my surprise I thought I saw a large white shooting star descending to earth. Lost sight of it behind a building.

Almost instantly I saw it or something very similar shooting up from the same area I watched the object disappear. This object was white and arching up toward the south. As it gained altitude it seemed to have smaller shooting stars coming from the original object. It continued up until it disappeared. As soon as it disappeared another or the same object appeared traveling parallel to the ground producing smaller versions of itself until they too disappeared. This continued for approximately fifteen minutes and culminated in a white ball turning red with a green fuzzy area around it. This too faded from view then I saw an orange glow that consumed approximately ten percent of the southern sky. During the entire event I never heard a sound. Nor do I recall seeing the ladder in both pictures.I was not the only witness as someone sent in a report that very night form Peoria, AZ. I did not have the digital Rebel XSI 12 mega-pixel with a 100-300mm lens at maximum extension. I grabbed my camera to take the attached photos but did not have a tripod available which resulted in the blurry photos. Multiple objects appear in the photos due to the length of time the shutter had to remain open to gather enough light. I did get some video but for some reason I can not send the files or copy them to a DVD.

February 5 , 2009 - Texas, Large bright light in southern sky, at an south/south west heading

I work for a septic company. We have a dump site in Desdemona, where we dump septic in a field, fully authorized. Back to the story. I worked late that day, up around Possum kingdom. I had a septic to do at 7 am the next morning. So I was emptying my septic truck after dark, approx 7:25pm I pulled into the field and was turning my truck around to empty it, and I noticed that Venus was really bright. Once I got my truck situated I looked back into the sky and saw Venus on the northern side of me. I looked back to where I saw "Venus" the first time and there was nothing. I chalked it up to being tired and started to empty my truck. That's when I glanced back and saw at least three orange round lights in the sky. They were just above the horizon to the south, flashing/blinking on and off in a distinct pattern. I looked across the horizon on the other side of me, at the wind turbines. They have red lights that flash at night. The patterns were similar. I looked back at the "freaky lights." they had went from three lights to four lights in a line. I called my wife, freaking out. The lights were taking turns turning on and off. Then they "developed" a tail. A fifth, possibly sixth light appeared and made a tail, similar to a kite tail. A 45 degree angle more like. So in all there were up to six lights, in the shape of a triangle. The tip pointing south/south west.

The whole event that I witnessed lasted maybe 3-4 minutes. I looked at my phone it was 7:25. I stayed in the field watching the skies for about 10 more minutes. Then I drove the 20 miles back to Stephenville, parked my truck and came home. The next day there were reports in the paper about the freaky lights in Desdemona. I reported two days later to the local newspaper, Empire Tribune. This was Thursday night of February Fifth.

Several people reported seeing the lights from Hwy 108. I was just off of hwy 16, some 25-30 miles west. I believe I saw the formation from the other side. At least I saw it from a different angle/ perspective.

Sorry i waited so long to report to you. I did not feel comfortable to write about it.

1. I was in Desdemona, 20 miles west of Stephenville. I was 3 miles north of Desdemona on hwy 16. I was on county road 509.

2. I first noticed it cause it was bright.

3. I first thought it was Venus.

4. See story.

5. Scared [cms/tg/pd], ask my wife.

6. The object just stopped flashing on and off.

April 2, 2009 - Arizona, Stationary bright white lights in a v formation.

I was traveling on highway 70 outside of Pima and noticed two lights that were appearing and then fading out over Pima. I could not tell if they were attached to a craft or not. After I passed through Pima a bright light got my attention above the horizon. As I turned to look six more lights showed up, three on each side of the first one making a V shape. I pulled the car over and grabbed my video camera and as I turned it on the lights faded out leaving only the original one which stayed on for several seconds longer. I wasn't able to get any video. The object was obstructing my view of the constellation Orion and I watched trying to see what was there, it was very dark but I would guess the overall size to be 300-400 feet and approx 1000 feet off the ground and silent. I couldn't actually see the craft however I began to drive and noticed that as my position changed I was able to see stars the object was blocking. After driving about a mile I realized the stars blocked were the constellation Orion. I turned around and drove opposite the way I had came and sure enough the stars along Orion's belt were blocked from my view again until I was about a mile past where I had originally stopped. I have no idea what could be so large and not move. Also the lights were very large and white had it not been for their size they could have easily been mistaken for stars and were situated in Orion's belt in a manner that could almost fit the stars positioning only the individual lights were much too large to pass for stars.

March 27 , 2009 - California, First 4 separate bright light objects hoovering in sky separate from each other.

My wife and myself were heading to Monterey Park after our work in Century City via route 10, to 60 to 5 freeways. Traffic was very heavy. Upon transitioning to the 5 freeway heading south I saw four bright white lights, hoovering over towards the east approximately two to three miles away. I told my wife to look at them because they were very similar to the two bright white lights I saw the previous weekend at about ten PM in the evening over the mountains on the 5 freeway just before Pyramid Lake on the opposite side of the lake, on our way back to Los Angeles from Frazier Park.

After we got off the 5 freeway at Slauson, we headed east two miles past the 605 freeway and arrived at our destination. I looked up at the objects and they started to move west. The first object was moving about the speed of a helicopter however it was not a Helicopter. There was no rotor blade and no rotor sound. It passed over us, but not directly over us. It was a few degrees north. My wife heard no sound but I heard a kind of low hum wind sound, that's the best way to describe it. It was low enough and light enough outside to see it's shape vaguely, which was sort of trapezoid with lights around it. The three remaining bright white light objects started moving westward also but did not pass us because we were in route to return to West Los Angeles. We reached the 5 freeway which was like a parking lot. I saw one of the objects fly over the freeway. The bright light came from the east and passed over the freeway. I told my wife to look. As it passed over the freeway the one bright white light spread out into three bright white lights in a straight line.

I witnessed one light apparently splitting into three horizontal lights. As we reached the 60 freeway transition we saw the other lights further away in the sky moving sometimes separately and sometimes lining up in the sky. As we approached Downtown I suggested we go to Little Tokyo for dinner as my wife was hungry. We got off the freeway at Alameda. Two of the objects had moved into view. One of the objects light went out and the other object moved off.

I did not have my video camera with me. At first I thought the objects may be part of the police or a military exercise of some kind. If they were military aircraft they were unlike any I am familiar with. I was most impressed by their ability to move slowly and apparently stop in air and their lack of noise/sound.

April 3, 2009 - Colorado, large disc, sphere shaped balls of light with beaming lights

My fiance, my mom and I were downtown by the river walk and in the sky I spotted a very bright light and it shot down a beam of light so I got my mom's and fiance's attention and we watched these disc shaped balls of light beam down light that reached the ground they would appear and disappear and re-appear. I would say there were 4 or 5 of them the sighting reminded me of the Phoenix lights but more intense because of the beams of light they shot down this is the second time this year I have reported a UFO but this is just more unexplainable than the last experience.....the crazy thing is that I had a dream just like this event occur just a week ago. Now I have more unanswered questions that I wish I could answer. The sighting made me feel extremely enlightened and very happy. I am also kind of wondering if this has to do with the recent cow mutilations here in Colorado?

February 26 , 2009 - Texas, Two red circular orbs slowly drifting southward low in night sky

It was February 26, 2009 sometime around 10:30 - 11:00 P.M. while returning home from Thursday night's class, traveling westbound on hwy 114 approaching the outskirts of Rhome, Texas, that I became aware of two red objects low on the horizon just slightly to the right of the roadway ahead of me. These two red orbs were pulsing on and off at a rate of about 20 -30 times a minute.

The on to off timing was uniformly equal and pulsing in unison. The size of the red orbs were slightly smaller than your thumbnail held at arms' length and the shape was perfectly circular with a very defined edge, no fuzziness or light diffusion. The distance between the two orbs was approximately the width of your fist at arms' length.

There was some relative motion between the two objects: the one on the left appeared steady on its course while the one on the right changed its altitude dipping down and then back to its level position.

As I continued driving due west the objects appeared to be drifting to the left or southward and now the roadway was turning slightly northward to a west-north-west heading and the view of the objects were being obstructed by trees. I thought I would pull over and stop to watch these red orbs and continued forward to have a clearer view now appearing through my side window.

The clear view was now coming up, but before I pulled off to the shoulder there appeared what I would describe as a burst from between and above the plane of the two orbs not unlike a jet going supersonic with its wing producing a shock wave. I had traveled about a mile in this episode so it was visible to me for about one minute. I continued onward where the road crosses over the railroad tracks to view southward the moonless night sky but could see no lights or movement there.

In review of this event I could not make any determination of the distance, speed, or direction involved or if any sound was made as my car windows were closed. Looking at a map of the area shows that when I first sighted the object it could have been over Rhome, Aurora or Boyd, or beyond by 100's of miles, or it could have been just beyond the tree line right over hwy 287 just a mile in front of me.

At the time, I thought the direction of travel was southward, but who's to say that I was actually seeing it departing straight away from me (west) on just a slight southward track. If that were true perhaps those who reside in Newark, Azle, Reno, or Springtown may have seen this occurrence. I was a passive observer of this non-threatening event and I know of no other witnesses as traffic was very, very light and the only other car well ahead did not stop.

April 4 , 2009 - Virginia, a glowing object that whent out but did not brake up

My dad, my sister, and I were going out to the store, and just when we where
driving out of the court I looked out the passenger window when I saw an object in the sky about the size of an oven. It was round-like.

To me it looked like an egg of silly puddy when you flatten it slightly. The blunt end was going forward (or the front). At first it looked as if it might have been on fire, that lasted for about five seconds. It was a short tail only about three feet long and a orange glow, it came directly from the back not consuming the hole thing. Then it went out, but I could still see the silhouette of it because the end if it was still glowing vary slightly. It was going south south east, I saw the object for about ten minutes until it went behind the trees.

It could not have been a shooting star I know because my dad used to be a meteorologist, and he has told me what a shooting star looks like, I have also seen a few myself. This thing I saw was too low, at about the height of 90ft. Also if it was a shooting star when it went out that would mean it burnt up, but I saw it for about ten seconds after it stoped glowing, and it wasn't broken up. It might have been a low meteor, but I think that's a small chance.

April 3 , 2009 - Georgia, shiny silver object silent with no jet stream and no wings

I looked up to see a shiny silver rectangular object in the sky. Sunlight was glinting off its surface. I was at work in Thomaston, Georgia and had left the building to gather supplies from a storage building when I saw it. It was silent with no jet stream although it was lower than most jets fly. I could see how large it was. It should have jet stream if it was a plane. I took four pics with my camera phone but was unable to ID anything until I sent them to my email and could view the pics on the computer screen. I observed the object for less than one minute before it was out of view. I had hoped for a clear photo since I could see it clearly with the naked eye. Of course when I was able to look at my pics on my email at home all that could be seen were more "blurry UFO pics"! I'm not sure what made me look up and see the object unless it was the bright glare of sunlight glinting off the object. I looked at it for a few seconds then quickly snapped some shots with the camera phone. I was excited to have seen something unusual at that time of day.

April 4, 2009 - Pennsylvania, Seen star like orb that became very bright after noticing it from my front porch

It was 9:45 p.m. I decided to go out and stand on my front porch to see how cold it was out! The wind was really blowing and I decided to look up at the sky as I was looking I seen this orb type object moving as if it were a star but just as I seen it coming into view the orb became very bright for like 2 seconds and as it was moving it became dim again. I watched it as it faded away and dissipated it was no airplane nor any type craft that we have no noise or anything. The Orb looked like the very one's seen on You Tube and other web site's. It looked like the very one that me and my friend from Ohio seen out in my back yard over the past summer when we were setting on lawn chairs in my yard. He's a witness also to what we had seen up close I believe it's the same craft or just one of it's kind. I feel like they are observing either me and my family or just the area in general but the amazing thing that draws my attention is the very brightness that comes off the craft like they are trying to get my attention so I notice them. Well, Sam, if you are reading this please give the people your testimony of what we seen over the summer in my back yard! If anyone has seen the same origin please contact me Jacob1973@msn.com Thank you

April 2, 2009 - California, Three lights either in formation or part of one vehicle over Monterey Bay / Santa Cruz

Around 8:00 pm on April 2, 2009, I was alone in the back yard of a friend's house in Santa Cruz, California, looking at the sky and noticed three lights moving exceptionally fast from east to west along the Monterey Bay coast. They moved in unison, changed directions several times, then disappeared after about ten seconds. The lights appeared to be a dull, dark red and did not flash or blink. Estimated altitude of several thousand feet. No sound. Again, way faster than any plane or satellite. About the same speed of a "shooting star" except these three lights changed directions and moved together.

April 3, 2009 - New York, It was a square blinking

I was outside when I saw a very low "airplane" but then I noticed it formed a square. One thing was that it was low but it was a square. It was going slightly faster than an airplane and had 5 lights, 4 to form a square and one in the middle.
