A UFO snapped at a popular tourist day-trip destination in Taiwan has been declared the real thing by that country's foremost UFO expert.

A Mr Cai and his family were out at the Tatachai Pass scenic area in the Nantou region this new year (Jan 1 2009) when they and some other people noticed what appeared to them to be flying saucer in the sky near a small mountain. Mr Cai's 5 year old son took a photo of the object.

Mr Jiang Huang Rong, Chairman of the UFO association of Taiwan, who openly concedes that the majority of UFO photos are hoaxes or incorrectly identified objects, thinks this photo is genuine based on analysis he has done comparing the object in question to other photos snapped by unconnected people in the same area, in Taiwan, and throughout the world.

In particular he compares this photo to one shot in 2003 that shows a similar shaped object over the 'Sun Moon' lake also in this area of the Nantou region. This particular UFO was of interest and declared genuine by the association because it cast a shadow.

In 2008 another photo of the same object appeared over the same mountain, not far from 'Sun Moon' lake.

Mr Rong believes these are not coincidences. Mr Rong refers to this type of UFO as the 'inverted ashtray' variety and notes that this exact shape has also been photographed in South America and elsewhere, often near water.

These Taiwanese sightings certainly add yet more weight to the theory that aliens are concealing their UFOs under lakes. Perhaps the locals refer to this lake as 'Sun Moon' in reference to glowing orb shaped objects that occasionally rise from its waters?
