A schoolgirl has spotted a strange yellow light in the skies above Harborough in the latest UFO mystery in the town.

Georgia Cook (12) was returning with her dad Peter to their home in Petworth Drive, Little Bowden, at about 9.50pm last Thursday when she saw the bright light moving soundlessly across the sky.

Her sighting follows the publication two weeks ago of a photograph which appears to show a UFO flying over a train track near Great Bowden.

The Welland Park College pupil said: "It was really bright. We turned the car engine off because we thought it might be a helicopter but there was no sound.

"It slowed down and stopped. Then it turned and went the other way so we knew it couldn't be a plane. It seemed to be pretty high but it was difficult to tell how high."

Georgia told her friends about the sighting at school the next day and two of them said they had seen the same thing.

The sighting is similar to one reported in the Mail in February 2007, when reader Kay Knight told us how she saw three yellowish lights moving soundlessly across the night sky between East Farndon and Harborough.

The objects were later revealed to be Chinese lanterns, set off from a garden in Lubenham Hill as part of birthday celebrations.
