AN article on sightings of a strange orange light in the sky above the strath has prompted another reader to come forward with details of how he saw the same unexplained phenomenon around the end of last year.

Colin Scott emailed the paper to say he had seen a similar light in the sky while out walking his dog shortly before 10pm on December 29.

This was exactly the time Jennifer and Andy Hill were reported to have seen a similar orange light above their home at Middle Terrace, Kingussie.

Mr Scott stated: "Like Mr and Mrs Hill I saw the, now famous, orange object in the sky on the evening of December 29.I was out with my dog and saw what I thought was a very bright star to the south between 9.50 and 9.55pm.

"It came closer and larger, not quiet spherical and not a regular outline."

He added that the light gave off no noise, did not flash like those on an aircraft and was travelling due north.

Mr Scott was not confident enough in his sighting to say he could give any indication of the altitude of the light nor of how fast it was travelling.

Although he did add that he watched the light for some time before "it disappeared to the north quite suddenly".
