Full Description of event/sighting: I live in a small town in south central Kentucky that is located about 5 miles north of London. I do not drink or use any kind of drugs and I am not on any medication. I am 26 years of age and have perfect eye sight and have no mental problems. I was doing some work online when my father asked me to look at something in the night sky. I thought it may be a plane or helicopter, but I looked anyway. What I saw in no way resembled anything I had seen before.
My father who is 78 years old and my mother who is 63 years old both say they have never seen anything like it. I have seen this object on three separate nights. The first night was Jan.12, 2009 at around 9:00pm. and like I said, my father asked me to look so I did and I was in shock because in the distance. I would say maybe a mile away there was a bright orange orb hovering in the sky.
I got my digital camera and went out onto the front porch and began filming this object. While zoomed in and filming this object I could see that it was changing colors as well as it's shape very rapidly. The colors changed from orange to red to green to white and back to orange. I filmed the object for several minutes until it slowly disappeared. My second sighting was at the same residence at around 8:30pm. on the night of January 15, 2009. The object this time was much closer and appeared to be hovering just above a local power supply sub station. I did the same as the first sighting, I went outside and filmed the object with the same results color change and shape change. I along with my parents watched as this object hovered silently for about two hours in that spot before slowly moving northwest and disappearing once again. My best sighting was on January 16, 2009 at around 9:00pm. I was at a friend's house in London and we were talking about what I seen, so I went outside to see if maybe it would be there again and sure enough it was. Same object, same color, same size and all.
My friend who is a Sgt. in the U.S. Army and a combat veteran filmed the object on his camera with same results that I had gotten. Along with myself, my parents and my friend who have seen this object there is my friend's wife, her sister, their cousin, my friends uncle and aunt and everyone says they have never seen anything like it before. I am not trying to get any kind of wealth or personal gain from this, I have in no way fabricated this sighting, and this is in no way any kind of hoax by me or anyone that I know. I simply would like an honest scientific answer on what I have been seeing.
Around 8:30 on Friday, February 13, 09, I was driving on the highway KY 119 just outside of Barbourville, KY when I noticed a large bank of clouds about 10,000 ft - give or take. Just out from the "lip" of this cloud coverage was what seemed to be a long, white cylindrical object, sort of like a plane without wings. It did seem, however, to have a "pinched in" place in its center, or an indentation of some sort about midway down the length of its body. It was perfectly still and did not move into or out away from the cloud. I alerted the passenger in my car, who also saw the object. I pulled off the road to get a better look. As I was pulling into a parking lot, I could still see it over my shoulder "sitting" there. When I turned the car around (which took all of 5 seconds), it was gone.
I was perplexed and couldn't understand how this thing could have disappeared so quickly, when it was no moving before. I pulled back onto the road and went back to where I had first spotted the object. As I was driving back, I then saw the object in the sky over our car (again, it was around 10,000 feet up) and slowly moving toward the bank of clouds. Then it simply disappeared. I pulled off the road and got out of the car. The passenger in my car also got out and we scanned the sky and couldn't see anything. I couldn't understand whether or not this object had shot over on into this cloudbank or what. (The cloudbank was long and formed a definite line of demarcation against the bright blue sky). As we were looking at this cloudbank, I suddenly felt the need to look straight up and sure enough, there it was again, hovering straight up over us, again at about 10,000 feet. Then it moved slowly in the cloudbank and disappeared.
The passenger in my car suggested that it was possibly a helicopter of some sort, but I have never seen a helicopter fly that high up in the sky. Again, I give the distance of around 10,000 feet, but I'm no judge of elevation. All I can say is that this cloudbank was very high. It made a white line against the clear blue sky and stretched for miles. As you looked further into the cloudbank, it began to break up into puffy "pillow shaped" clouds. The object, however, would go into the cloud as if it were hiding, then it would come out and sit there, as if it were observing. It was almost as if it knew that I had caught it watching, and retreated back into the cloud. Again, the object was white, almost a silvery-white, and was long and cylindrical - like a plane without wings. About midway down its length, it may have had a division of some sort, because it appeared to have a pinched look in its center. We attempted to listen for any sound, but it was so high, we could hear nothing.
