Yongzhu -- Chinese officials have ordered an inspection of all construction cranes in Yongzhou City following a collapse that killed three people and injured five others.

In the second serious construction accident in Hunan province in a matter of days, a massive crane crumpled at a construction site and landed on a hotel parking lot.

Local officials immediately halted all crane operations in the region pending the inspection, China's Xinhua news service said Tuesday.

On Saturday, an overloaded elevator crashed to the ground, killing 17 workers at a downtown apartment project in Changsa.
