Mumbai - Bollywood is taking a dig at George W. Bush in a low-budget spoof about a bunch of Indians who enter a reality television competition to meet the US president.

"The President is Coming," which cost just 600,000 dollars to make, is the fictional story of six young people who vie to be picked as the face of "The New India" and get to stand in a line-up of dignitaries to meet the president.

The backdrop is Bush's actual visit to India in 2006. Everything else is made up, except the notable "Bushisms" such as "some of our imports come from abroad" and "is our children learning?"

The cast is made up entirely of theatre actors, apart from well-known screen actress Konkona Sen Sharma, who plays a Bengali novelist. She said she was attracted by the script and could not turn down the part.

"I laughed out in one scene when there is a competition between different contestants on Bushisms," she said.

"I don't think Bush ever was well-educated in foreign affairs. So we have made fun of this in the film," she added.

The English-language film is an adaptation of an acclaimed stage play that opened earlier this year. The movie is produced by Rohan Sippy and first-time director Kunal Roy Kapoor.

Sippy's next venture, "Chandni Chowk to China," is a high-profile co-production with US studio giant Warner Bros.
