The body of Angel Pantoja Medina stands leaning against a wall during his wake in his mother's home in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The last wish of Medina was to be standing at his own wake. Thankfully, he was embalmed for the occasion.

File this one under "insanely creepy." A funeral home used a special embalming treatment to keep the corpse of 24-year-old Angel Pantoja Medina standing upright for his three-day wake.

Angel was dressed up in his trademark Yankees baseball cap and sunglasses and was mourned by relatives and strangers alike while propped upright in his mother's living room.

His brother Carlos told the El Nuevo Dia newspaper that Angel had always said that he wanted to be upright for his own wake:
"We use to talk about this stuff. He said he wanted to be happy, standing, ready to party when it was his time."
So the owner of the local funeral home was asked by Angel's mom to fulfill her dead son's last wish.

Angel Pantoja Medina was found dead Friday underneath a bridge in San Juan and buried on Monday. Police are investigating why he died.

I could make alot of inappropriate comments right now, but I will refrain. I will say however there are simply some last wishes that families should re-think a wee bit. Oh, and because I know you are wondering, there was standing room only at Angel's wake.
