a "washing machine-type thunderstorm" sucked them up into the air? Really? Then where are the broken branches and other tree parts?
to me. Even a fairly small one passing through a flock would likely cause a thermo-baric trauma (like the specialty bombs used in Iraq).
Well, thermobaric is probably not the right term for it, but the intense percussive effect of either a passing meteor or exploding meteor would do the trick, I think.
Birds are usually pretty clever about weather aren't they?
Especially if their lives depend on it. They are not going to fly into a storm if they can help it. It's probably because they can sense some sort of change in barometic pressure and instinct will tell them to avoid it because it 'doesn't feel right'.
Sounds like they were surprised by an explosion of some sort...
because OF COURSE they died of "blunt force trauma" - they hit the freaking GROUND when they fell! So basically what this article is saying is that they have no clue WHY the birds fell, only that their deaths were caused by hitting the ground. I personally think the birds were overcome with fumes from outgassing due to the recent earthquakes in the area and fell to their deaths. Outgassing into the Arkasas river could also explain the massive fish kill too.
If you take a closer look, they are saying the birds died before they hit the ground. The cause of death was blunt force trauma BEFORE they hit the ground.
Everyone! LISTEN. either this world is going stupid or people are just trying to be. I think all these "theories" on how come these birds could of died are wonderful, but they just cant be that simple. 1. Fireworks Theory: come on, really?? Im suppose to believe that Beebe, Arkansas just went super insane with fireworks to kill all their birds? Ugh! 2. Weather Theory: very logical, however youre missing the point here, the fact is that this is VERY rare and Beebe was not under that extreme weather at the time, PERIOD, i do believe if hail could have killed these birds that people of Beebe would have mention, "damn, the hails killing the birds!" so once again, come on!!! 3. Commentor's Meteor Theory: possibly the dumbest!! No one cares that you know facts on the techniques of weapons and their causings. Once again, it was New Years Eve!! People would see a freaking meteor!!!! 4. Gas Theory: possibly my favorite, arkansas is a state with underground volcanoes/gas lines especially around Little Rock which was within an hour of Beebe, however, its still simple!! This could not be the cause because tests showed the cause of death to be trauma while flying, no poisons, and not to mention nearly 2000 of the estimated 5000 birds were all picked up in a bubble room of just two miles. A possibly leak of a gas or mysterious force would not travel 40 miles with no damage and a suddon massacre of birds.
People, i really hope we find the truth because i want to know it. I sure hope we figure it out before it happens to us! For others, heres some cool info you may like.
This type of occurance has happened before, and i mean the same birds too! In europe. Also, i've come to find out, possibly due to global warming, that the migration of birds has been quite different this year. In New Hampshire, birds in which are normally long gone, and migrated south, have stayed in New Hampshire. To me so far, only logical explanation is a possible cold front that could have ruined there flight, HOWEVER, keeping it simple, why only there? Why so massive?
Let me know!
I will be 58 years old this month and cannot remember hearing of 5,000 birds just poof dropping dead out of the air in a particular area.
Than the next video was about three adorable kittens that were murdered...........I'm a dog person but three kitties, come on :(
And killer tornados the last day of December.
Well I'm heading on over to Stress Control healing And Rejuvenation Program to the left of my writing here.........2011 is already starting out rough.
5,000 birds, just dropping out of the air like that - mighty strange.
