WHO officials have restated their confidence regarding the use of the H1N1 flu vaccine, considering it the most important tool against the pandemic.

According to a statement recently released by the World Health Organization (WHO), everyone who has access to H1N1 flu vaccine should be vaccinated against the disease.

"It is important to remember that the vaccines, which have already been approved, have been used for years and years and years in their seasonal vaccine formulation and have been shown to be among the safest vaccines that exist," said WHO spokesman Gregory Hartl.

Recent trials have reported that the use of this vaccine is associated with few mild side effects, such as muscle cramps and headache.

The report showed that the vaccination campaign, already started in China and Australia, will soon move to the US and parts of Europe.

Physicians and healthcare providers should be among the population vaccinated against the disease in order to contain the fatal disease more effectively, WHO officials stressed.
