Jakarta: Mid-scale earthquakes occurred in the water the southern part of Indonesia, Thursday (23/10) early morning. It increases the quantity of earthquakes found in eastern Indonesia in the last 24 hours.

According to the Meteorology & Geophysics Agency (BMG), the earthquake measured five on the Richter scale with an epicenter at 11.7 south latitude and 116 east longitude or 335 kilometers away on the southeast side of Nusadua, Bali.

The earthquake that was 10 kilometers deep occurred around 01.22am without a potential tsunami.

Earlier, on Wed (22/10) at 10pm an earthquake 141 kilometers deep occurred 260 kilometers away at the northeast of Dili, Timor Leste.

On the same day, two other earthquakes were also located in eastern Indonesia. The first earthquake happened at 6.29am, 144 kilometer southwest of Jayapura, Papua measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale.

The second earthquake happened at 11.54am, 96 kilometers southwest of Toli-Toli, Central Sulawesi measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale.
