Sindh Home Minister Dr Zulfikar Mirza Tuesday said that Monday's bomb blasts were aimed at triggering ethnic strifes in the city but people foiled this conspiracy.

Addressing a press conference at Central Police Office Tuesday morning, the Minister said that the blasts were carried out by helmet wearing terrorists riding on three motorcycles.

He said that a team is investigating into bomb blasts under the supervision of DIG Saud Mirza and four suspects have been apprehended and are being interrogated.

He pointed out that none of the victims of yesterday's bomb blasts was seriously injured.

Home Minister said that so far no police official has been suspended, but in case any evidence of negiligence on the part of concerned police officials comes to the fore, the Chief Minister said they should be suspended.

He told journalists that seven cases in connection with the seven bomb blasts have been registered at concerned police stations.

When asked about motives of blasts, Dr. Zulfikar said that these are still confusing and factual position will emerge after investigation.

Replying to a question, he said that situation in Lyari today was better than that of Defence area. He informed that in three days, 15 kidnapees have got been released.

To another question, he said there had been a decline in cases of kidnappings for ransom.
