Five Israeli tourists were killed in a traffic accident in Bolivia Thursday overnight.

The tourists' names were not yet released for publication.

The group's members were all in their twenties, according to Israel Radio.

Preliminary details reveal that the five were traveling in a jeep when they collided with another jeep near the city of La Paz. Japanese tourists traveling in the other jeep were also killed.

The vehicles reportedly collided head on, in a fatal accident that left no survivors.

Israel holds no embassy in Bolivia and Foreign Ministry officials are coordinating with the South American country the release of the tourists' bodies.

The Israeli Consulate in Bolivia is the highest state official stationed there. The ambassador in Lima, Peru, was assisting in the case, Israel Radio reported.
