Nobody likes having their hotel mini bar ransacked during a holiday.

And Jude Law is no exception, especially when the tiny tipples are being spirited away by the spectral paws of Frank Sinatra.

The Michael Caine tribute act was celebrating his 35th birthday at Havana's celebrity-infested Hotel Nacional de Cuba, when he caught Ol' Blue Eyes eyeing up the roasted peanuts in his fridge.

But the blond Mockney was reluctant to swap rooms, for fear that he was mistaking his Rat Pack ghost with the effects of one too many rum punches.

However, poor Jude was so shaken about his unexpected birthday guest, he gingerly explained the situation to the night manager, who gave him a new room.

But his flabber was truly gasted when the hotel Big Cheese revealed that Jude was staying in the very suite that the old crooner used to request during his Cuban jaunts.

A curtain-twitching chambermaid said:"Jude had no idea that Frank used to stay in that room.

"You could see he was really spooked by it. To begin with, he was too embarrassed to explain what he'd seen.

"Jude had sampled lots of the hotel's rum cocktails to celebrate his birthday, so he thought it was just a drunken vision.

"But he came clean when we told him about the room's famous old guest. And he swore that he had caught the crooner crouched at the mini bar, rummaging through the bottles and snacks.

"Poor old Jude was relieved when we finally put him in a different room, although we didn't tell him that Winston Churchill used to stay in it, just in case.

"We didn't want Jude to worry about Winston nabbing his cigars."

The swish hotel has also had its towels darkened by the likes of Buster Keaton, Tyrone Power, Eroll Flynn, Marlon Brando and Ernest Hemingway.

Jude spent Christmas between its hallowed walls with his delightful ex-wife Sadie Frost, 42, and their sprogs Rafferty, 11, Iris, seven, Rudy, five and Frost's son Finlay, 17.

The pair added their snaps to the hotel's Bar of Fame wall and have drawn an arrow to the photograph of Frank on the opposite wall.

Our source added:"There aren't many people who can say they were haunted by Sinatra on their birthday. I think Jude was quite chuffed.

"Frank's turn at the mini bar gave an unusual twist to the haunting experience."

But more, much more than this; he did it his way.
