According to killedbypolice.net an online website that tracks daily statistics of deaths at the hands of police the police in America have killed 1031 people this year. An average of 3.25 people killed by police everyday. Thats roughly a quarter of the number of soldiers who died in the entirety of the Iraq war and a third of the deaths of U.S. Soldiers in Afghanistan. According to Icasualties.org 4,814 soldiers died during the Iraq occupation and 3,506 have died during the conflict in Afghanistan.

We used to think that we were 8 times more likely to be killed by police but due to information being released in regards to agencies underreporting their officer involved shootings that number has risen significantly. An investigative report by the Guardian reveals that you are now 55 times more likely to die at the hands of a police officer than you are a terrorist.

Time Magazine noted in 2013 that the chance of dying in a terrorist attack in the United States from 2007 to 2011, according to Richard Barrett - coordinator of the United Nations al Qaeda/Taliban Monitoring Team - was 1 in 20 million.

Compare those numbers to the 109 police officers who have died this year you realize it's far more dangerous to be on the opposite side of a law enforcement stop.

A complete list of duty related officer deaths provided by the Officer Down Memorial Page

Officer Down has reported 33 deaths due to gunfire, that is less than 1/3 of the overall duty deaths for the year(109). More cops have died this year from heart attacks and automobile accidents combined than they did active shooters.

With the exception of a few high profile deaths of law enforcement personnel this year, the war on cops has been nothing more than propaganda heavily pushed by the mainstream media. In fact it got so bad that recently Lt Charles Gliniewicz committed suicide and staged it to appear as if it was a murder. Luckily the suspects had rock solid alibis that were able to be confirmed. If they hadn't they would have spent the rest of their life in prison for killing a cop.

Unfortunately for the police the the numbers don't support their claim, in fact they debunk this narrative in its entirety. 2015 is shaping up to be the safest year for police in 25 years. As for any actual war on cops the real battleground is fought over information. It is a war between those in society who push for transparency and accountability and the establishment who attempts to pull the wool over our eyes every time a member of the enforcement class.

When you are 55 times more likely to be killed a cop than you are a terrorists I personally believe its time reevaluate where the actual threat to our safety comes from.

I sincerely hope that this information inspires you to act to make a change in your community. Its as easy as filming the police with a cell phone and from there the tactics are endless.
