Did we all recently wake up in an alternate universe?! Speaking with Wolf Blitzer on CNN recently, Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard explained why the US allying with Islamist extremists to overthrow Syrian President Assad is an illegal, counter-productive war that will cause even more human misery in the region and help ISIS and other Islamist extremists take over all of Syria, which is exactly what Putin and Russia have been saying since the get-go.

Instead of once again trying to get rid of a secular leader, Tulsi explains, the US must stay out of counter-productive wars and focus on defeating the 'Islamist' extremists who have declared war on humanity. It's reassuring to see at least one member of Congress with a functioning brain. While the whole truth is that those 'Islamists' are predominantly CIA assets, Tulsi Gabbard pretty much told it like it is. If only there were more like her...

Wolf Blitzer, however, continues regurgitating the lies about what is happening in Syria. The following (brilliant and partially edited) comment, responding to Blitzer's description of 'the evil dictator Assad', was left under the above video on Congresswoman Gabbard's Youtube channel by YT user Denis Soliakhov:
In reality, about two thirds of the total death toll is military (mostly Syrian Army, but also their adversaries), only one third is civilian. This ratio is so exceptionally rare in modern wars that the Syrian war can in no way be described as a 'civil war'.

In reality, barrel bombs are rarely used, and then only against depopulated areas, while the terrorists' hell cannons that Wolf did not mention are much more prevalent and kill far more people.

The chemical weapons attacks that the US claimed were done by Assad were actually done by the 'rebels'. A Turkish whistleblower recently confirmed that the incident outside Damascus in August 2013 was a terrorist attack, and that it was done with Turkey's assistance in order to blame Assad and provide the pretext for the US declaring a unilateral no-fly zone (read: carpet-bombing) in Syria.

The story that Assad - a European-educated, mild-mannered, intelligent leader - after years of ruling peacefully all of sudden went insane and started murdering 'peaceful protesters' is a lie. In reality, the first deadly clashes between police and 'peaceful protesters' occurred on March 18th 2011 and resulted in seven policemen shot dead, and four protesters shot dead (ie, the 'peaceful protesters' were armed from the get-go). CNN never told you that story because you would not otherwise be convinced by the manufactured perception that Assad is brutal, not those terrorist 'peaceful protesters'.

Another misconception spread by Western/Saudi/Qatari (Al Jazeera)/Turkish media is that the Syrian government is sectarian. This is intentionally malicious misinformation since both Assad's government and his army are multi-confessional and multi-ethnic. This is never reported because in would undercut the media's Salafist/Wahhabi/Al-Qaeda propaganda drive and hamper ISIS recruiting efforts.

Finally, another thing that is never reported is that out of 11 million refugees, the vast majority fled to, and found shelter in, areas controlled by the Syrian government, not overseas nor to areas held by any 'moderate'. The reason for is that the 'moderate rebels' are actually head-chopping, woman-raping, drugged-up maniacs belonging to Al-Nusra/Al-Qaeda/ISIS. Self-declared members of the so-called 'Free Syrian Army' are on record of having openly welcomed "our ISIS brothers" and admitting collaboration with Al-Qaeda.

On a final note, prior to this proxy invasion of his country, Assad had accepted over 1 million Iraqi refugees (mostly Sunni) - even though Syria has experienced severe drought since 2007, which was partly why there were small protests in the first place: locals in the southeastern desert regions were angry that there weren't enough resources to share with Iraqi refugees pouring over the border. We won't even mention the millions of Palestinian refugees Syria has sheltered going back decades...
Get the picture now, Wolf?
