Accreditation now needs support from a general broadcasting licence from the Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media before the channel's output is back on Russian screens.
"Accreditation for Russia has been signed off," said Roskomnadzor representative Vadim Ampelonskiy, noting the two-stage approval process.
CNN announced in November it would stop broadcasting on Russia's cable network at the end of the year. "Turner International is assessing distribution options for CNN in Russia in light of recent changes in Russian media legislation," it said at the time, without naming the changes.
In July last year, Russia's State Duma lower house of parliament voted to ban advertising on pay TV channels from January 2015.

CNN (Completely Neocon Nonsense) should NOT be permitted to broadcast its propaganda to the Russian citizens. Allowing this is unwise in the extreme. Taking the moral high road with zionists and neocons is not just insane, it can prove fatal. Propaganda via American news media sources is just another small step in the process of foisting a 'color revolution' on Russia, to eliminate them as a potential competitor of Uncle Shmuel in the 21st century.
The problem as I see it is that NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) works on you whether you want it to or not. It just programs your thinking over time, without you consciously choosing to do so. Thus, small cracks in the collective resistance of the Russian people's will can be engineered through these Trojan Horses of the zionist-controlled US media, which over time can lead to a certain 'suggestibility' towards the propaganda of the zionist-anglo alliance. Mind control of the sheeples works, even with the great Russian peoples.
Letting CNN or any other US mainstream-media broadcaster access to the minds (and thereby, possibly the hearts) of the Russian citizenry is taking a huge risk with Russia's future. The more they stay away from the tar-baby of US media mouthpieces, the more likely Russia will remain strong and vital and able to fend off the overtures and propaganda from the zionist-anglo coalition's many other sources of mind-fucking. But let these bastards into your home via your TV, and thereby into yours and your children's(!) minds, and you may find yourself just like the Ukrainians: wondering what the hell happened, feeling a terrible burning pain between their buttocks and in their bank accounts, and foolishly looking around wondering, "Who just raped me?"
Let's hope Russia comes to its senses. Being totally open media-wise can be great PR and very democratic, but not if it results in the wholesale propagandizing of your populace into a moldable melange of sheeples and suckers, ready to open wide and bend over for the endless zionist-anglo promises of a 'better life'.
