Wherever atrocities happen it is a crime. Wherever atrocities happen AND the media remains silent it is not only a crime, but also a dark spot on the conscience of humanity. As Hitchcock showed in the documentary of the Holocaust and the Nazi concentration camps, the people living near these camps claimed to be unaware of the atrocities being committed in their midst. Information was available, but as Harrison Koehli wrote in his article, a number of social conformity biases take effect. This causes unpleasant events to be explained away and compartmentalized in a dark corner of the brain. It is one of the characteristics of authoritarian followers, as Bob Altemeyer has shown in his studies. Today, even more so than in the 1930's, the information is only a Google search away. Yet, in all fairness, the signal to noise ratio is probably the same as in the '30s, especially given that the vast majority of the media is owned by just six corporations who do not appear to have the interests of humanity at heart.

One example is Ukraine. The tragedy in Ukraine has now been ongoing for more than a year. The Western media has, throughout the entire sequence of events, been accusing Russia of starting the conflict by invading Ukraine. Sanctions upon sanctions have been heaped on Russia based on those accusations, which in both the Russian and alternative media have been exposed as falsehoods. Yet everything that contradicts the official Western line has been labelled Russian propaganda and the statements coming from the Western installed puppets in Kiev taken as unquestionable facts.

But the truth is slowly emerging, even from statements made by Western and Ukrainian leaders. Below is a list of statements made in recent days which contradict the official Western government and media narrative for the last year and highlight the truth of most of the claims made by Russian and alternative media over the same time period.

1) Ukraine's top general admits: "No Russian troops are fighting against us"
The Chief of Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces, General Viktor Muzhenko, is saying, in that news-report, which is dated on Thursday January 29th, that the only Russian citizens who are fighting in the contested region, are residents in that region, or of Ukraine, and also some Russian citizens (and this does not deny that perhaps some of other countries' citizens are fighting there, inasmuch as American mercenaries have already been noted to have been participating on the Ukrainian Government's side), who "are members of illegal armed groups," meaning fighters who are not paid by any government, but instead are just "individual citizens" (as opposed to foreign-government-paid ones). General Muzhenko also says, emphatically, that the "Ukrainian army is not fighting with the regular units of the Russian army."
2) Obama openly admits 'brokering power transition' in Ukraine
In an interview with CNN's Fareed Zakaria, Barack Obama acknowledged that the United States had "brokered a deal to transition power in Ukraine," thus admitting to a high level of democratic impropriety.
"Brokering a transition" seems pretty clear Orwellian-speak for 'overthrew a legitimately elected government'. Let us not forget that the US undersecretary of state Victoria Nuland admitted this a year ago, when she said that the US had spent 5 billion dollars on regime change in Ukraine.

3) "Yatsenyuk and Turchinov started the war!"--Poroshenko Block Deputy
Sergey Kaplin, a Poroshenko Block Rada Deputy declared on one of Ukrainian TV channels that the Donbass war was unleashed by the Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk and Security and Defense Committee chief Aleksandr Turchinov. And they are blaming it on Putin because it's "convenient for them." This news was reported by PolitNavigator.

"Let's get to the truth. Who caused the situation in the East? When they say 'only Putin', that's a very convenient answer. But it's not so! It was caused by Yatsenyuk and the current head of SDC," said Kaplin.

He went on to say that the war could have been ended right away, but neither Yatsenyuk nor Turchinov were interested in it.
So Russia did not start the war as the West have been claiming from day one.

4) Poroshenko to Rehabilitate Berkut, Blame Heavenly Hundred on Maidan Organizers?
One of the leaders of the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD), the First Deputy Chairman of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Police, Vitaliy Sakal, made a sensational announcement. He said that a group of investigators "which is working the sensational Maidan killings, no longer suspects members of the Berkut special unit of the killings of Maidanites."

[...]

The investigators openly stated that they "carefully watched all available video recordings and did not see any non-issue weapons among the police that might have been used to commit the Maidan killings. That's the truth: neither the police nor the special units had weapons, the "Bloody Yanuk" forbade to shoot at the peaceful protesters hurling Molotov cocktails.
The Maidan killings were used by the West as evidence that Yanukovych was a brutal dictator who kills his own people (the same was said of Saddam, Gaddaffi and Assad) and therefore must go. The script for how these regime change wars are sold does not change much.

5) Ukraine: "We Target Civilians." Separatists: "Their Targeting Maps Prove It."
The pro-regime Ukrainian TV station Hromandske TV - which is funded by the U.S. Government, the Dutch Government, and George Soros (via his International Renaissance Foundation or 'Fund') - has reported that the Ukrainian Government is specifically targeting civilians to die in the Donbass region in the former Ukraine's southeast. It's being done in order "to clean the cities."

This is open acknowledgement that the operation, which the U.S. is financing (and because Ukraine is bankrupt it can never reimburse its donors), is actually an ethnic-cleansing campaign.

Video of Commander of the Ukrainian Government's volunteer battalion 'Shaktarsk,' Ruslan Onishchenko: "Our mission, being employees of the Ministry of the Interior, is to clean the cities, after the army has 'worked' this territory with aircraft, artillery and heavy military equipment. This is a normal tactical approach to warfare."

Retired Col. General Vladimir Ruban, interviewed on the pro-Ukrainian-Government Hromadske TV, then says: "I want to offer the Ukrainian artillerists medals, to those who shell the city [Donetsk], the houses and the civilian population, ... for they [artillerists] have deserved it [medals], both because of the accuracy and inaccuracy. ...

[...]

The shelling there is done as intimidation, ... not just object destruction, but intimidation [to get the population to flee to nearby Russia]. The civilian population is intimidated by a chaotic bombardment of different objects.

6) Russia was invaded by one MILLION Ukrainian men of military age, hiding from Poroshenko - official data
More than one million male citizens of Ukraine, which is currently in the process of the fourth wave of mobilization, are already on the territory of the Russian Federation, which was declared by the resolution of Verkhovnaya Rada as the "aggressor".

The relevant data was reported at a press conference in Kiev by the founder of the Ukrainian sociological company Research & Branding Group, Yevgeny Kopatko.

"According to the Federal Migration Service there are 2 million 430 thousand citizens of Ukraine now in Russia, including 1 million 172 thousand men of military age".
No wonder the 4th mobilization wave in Ukraine is a complete disaster. The people of Ukraine are voting with their feet, leaving for Russia rather than partaking in a fraternal war against fellow Slavs. And no, they are not leaving for the EU, but prefer to go to Russia, a clear sign that most Ukrainians don't buy the BS about "evil Russia" coming from the Western-controlled puppets in Kiev and the Western media.

7) The Organisation for Security and Co-Operation in Europe (OSCE) has spoken out numerous times as the following links show. They testify to Russia's non-aggressive role in the Ukrainian war: So information is coming out that shows the Ukrainian conflict to be a Western style regime change with the aim of weakening Russia and ensuring the hegemony of the Empire of Chaos. This won't surprise anyone who has been paying attention to what has been going on, just as astute observers noticed the rise of the Third Reich during the '30s and tried to sound the alarm. As the statements above come from Kiev officials or Western officials, it's hard to give the usual excuses:
  • "It was too hard to find"
  • "It was nowhere in my language"
  • "It was too hard to truly find out the truth, it's just too confusing"
  • "I don't have time to wade through thousands of articles"
  • "It is all just Russian propaganda"
To the objection that the first two excuses are still valid, Sott.net is now in 10 languages. As far as making it easier to find, you, the reader, can give a helping hand by spreading it far and wide by dropping a link to the article when commenting on social media. The truth is the best weapon to defeat the lie, which is why it is so hated by the powers that be. If the words "never again" are to have any meaning at all, it is important that everybody has the evidence in hand and thus can never truthfully say "I didn't know".

Help us flap those butterfly wings dear readers! Remember: Knowledge protects - Ignorance endangers!
