The application of law in feudal America - know your place

It's no revelation that the majority of America is asleep at the wheel (both figuratively and literally). I get it. People are really busy taking the kids to soccer, sitting glued to American Idol, and buying up $300 pairs of Nikes manufactured in Vietnam for $1.68/each.

No one has the time or energy to care about trivial things like the killing of 5,000+ Americans or heads of state breaking international law.

The common folks are just too preoccupied to realize that they're paying multi-billion dollar companies welfare, all while complaining about "ghetto queens" buying a $3 Red Bull with an EBT card.

I feel for these people whose few spare moments are consumed with the socially necessary memorization of sports statistics and analysis of who sportsed the hardest at sports this week.

It is because of this empathy that I felt compelled to write a summary public service announcement which will inform people on proper behavior in our newly transformed society. I'm calling it...

Know Your Place

If you are a member of the ruling class or their protectors you may:

• Torture people (including innocents and US citizens), in violation of international law and get away with it
• Invade foreign nations in direct violation of UN treaties you helped write, and suffer no repercussions
• Cause a collapse of the world's financial system, steal billions of dollars from tax payers, then be allowed to write legislation removing the protections intended to keep you from doing it again
• Drive the wrong direction down the highway while drunk and keep your job
• Scream racial slurs while repeatedly kicking someone in the head and receive no charges
• Gun down a group of unarmed hurricane Katrina survivors and have your case dismissed
• Shoot someone, then burn their remains and never have it investigated
• Vote yourself pay increases while your job performance slides
• Hit a cyclist and leave the scene of the accident without being charged
• Kill a cyclist while texting and driving, and face no charges
• Intentionally run down sixteen people in your SUV and have your 60 day sentence cut to 37 days
• Rape a three year-old, get convicted, and never serve a day in jail
• Give yourself massive bonuses immediately after taking bailout funds from taxpayers
• Get convicted of laundering money for terrorists but only pay a fine
• Kill four people and injure two while DUI and get only probation
• Get three years in prison for stealing $3 billion dollars
• Shoot a seven year-old and only get charged with a misdemeanor

If you are a member of the underclass you may

• Be killed for trying to circumvent five cents of cigarette tax.
• Be executed for camping without a permit
• Do life in prison for pot brownies
• Get fifteen years in prison for stealing $100
• Get charged with a crime for posting song lyrics on Facebook
• Get arrested for feeding homeless people
• Get arrested for being a kid writing about hunting
• Get arrested for waiting for a school bus
• Be charged with sexual battery... for being a six year-old playing tag
• Get shot multiple times from 143ft away for j-walking
• Get arrested for documenting police brutality
• Become a wanted criminal for giving the public the truth about government crimes

Of course, in the grand scheme of things, these are merely a drop in the bucket, but they should be sufficient to give folks a general idea of where each group stands in the eyes of the American injustice system. Please, tell me again about how we should only be worried about racist cops. Tell me again how it's mayor De Blasio's fault for people being angry at the police. Tell me again how this double standard is just some kind of false narrative put forth by the evil media. What's that line in the pledge of allegiance?

"With liberty and justice for all" Hardly.
