The wolf in the photo is a Himalayan wolf. Not Indian. Few experts ever see these Attacks and so we have to rely on uneducated vilagers' version of what they see as wolves. Feral dogs that roam in packs are also a great problem in India. Many attacks by them are blamed on the relatively small Indian wolf which seldom to 23 kg in weight. It's about the size of the average coyote. They stand about 26 inches at the shoulder. Not an animal that can really harm a human.
