In recent years, more Americans have been getting tattoos than ever before, but now a new body art trend is spreading across America like wildfire. 3D tattoos can be far more realistic than conventional tattoos, and many are choosing them for their pure shock value. But how will all of these young people feel about their weird tattoos a decade or two from now?
And what does all of this bizarre body art say about our society? Is this a good thing or a bad thing?
Below are photos of 3D tattoos that I found on Facebook and Pinterest. At first glance, it is hard to believe that some of these are actually tattoos...
What you just saw are examples of what I thought that I could safely share.
There are a lot of other photos that were so demonic or so risque that I felt that I just couldn't share them.
These 3D tattoos are part of a much larger trend known as "extreme body modification". In this day and age, there seems to be a constant desire to "push the envelope" in the body art community. And what some people have chosen to do to themselves in the name of "art" is truly, truly bizarre. The following is a short excerpt from my previous article entitled "People Are Undergoing Extreme Body Modifications In Order To Look More Like The Devil?"...
You can check out the rest of that article right here. When does body modification go too far? In recent years, the popularity of tattoos and body piercings has soared, but now there are thousands of people around the globe that are taking body modification to ridiculous extremes. For example, would you be willing to have your tongue split in two so that you could have a forked tongue? What about getting eyeball tattoos or having titanium horns implanted in your head?
To most people, doing such things would be unimaginable, but there is a growing subculture of individuals out there that truly seem to enjoy "pushing the envelope" and seeing what is possible. Some of them want to look like cats, some want to look like vampires, others want to look like aliens and some even want to look like the devil. Yes, you read that correctly. You are about to read about one man that is purposely modifying his body so that he will look as much like the devil as possible. In fact, he even plans to add a tail someday.
I have a feeling that most of these people that are mutilating themselves will end up deeply regretting it.
After all, the truth is that most forms of extreme body modification are not going to help you get a job or find a spouse.
But what do you think? Are 3D tattoos and other forms of extreme body modification a good thing? Please share your thoughts by posting a comment below...

.....and leave the rest of the world to us, the ones who value and celebrate life. I refuse to accept that this will become acceptable, in Canada at least. People wonder why the world has become hell on earth............because freaks like this are rolling-out the red carpet for the devil himself. One can only wonder what ill effects visions like this would have on children......not being able to tell the difference between real and illusion. When our children wake-up in the middle of the night because of a nightmare from seeing something like that, we won't be able to tell them honestly that monsters don't exist. Soon enough this world is going to seem like one big bad LSD trip......a trip we can't come down from. This is so beyond disturbing on so many levels. What is going on in these people's minds???.......I'm calling them 'people' to be polite. Actually, I don't even care to know, it can't be interesting on any level. I'm SO TIRED of people like this polluting society and making it unpleasant, and even scary for the rest of us. A zombie apocalypse does not seem so far fetched at this point......nothing does.

i like the dude with the multiple eyes. it's creepy as hell - i just hope he has some sort of livable income cause i don't think even walmart would put him at the register
Just bizarre..Those people should be analyzed psychologically. They want to attract attention for one and what else I don't know.
If there on one day is possible to make people genetically modified, hybridized like a kind of evil alien offspring
would it also become a trend among humans?
Or is this happened already?
You must be new to Canada because there is a large amount of people with tattoos in the great, white, north. And since when did a tattoo of a spider indicate that they worship Satan? Judging a book by it's cover much? I know many Christians and other religious people with tattoos as well. In fact, one of the only satanists that I know has no tattoos and is a pretty friendly person. As, for children having nightmares from tattoos; I have never had my 3 year old get upset or freaked out by someone's tattoos; including my tattoo artist brother who has full sleeves and plethora of art all across his body. Art is meant, sometimes, to: shock and offend you, to wake up people, to challenge their complacence, and more importantly to make you feel. Do I like it all? No. But free will is free will; specially when no one is being hurt, except the one of coarse getting the tattoo.(Ouch on the throat tattoo!) Judge not lest ye be judged. So, before you appoint yourself as the ambassador of Canadian opinion you may want to talk to the other Canadians, especially the ones you don't understand, first. Because who are the ones making hell on Earth? The ones bombing and planning massive suffering and death across our beautiful world or the ones sitting in a chair for three hours getting ink put into their skin. It's hard one! Don't worry I'll give you some extra time to figure it out. One last thing to be concerned about: monsters do exist and to lie to your, and any other, child to tell them that they do not is dangerous. The problem is that in this world often the monsters don't look like monster they look like the normal, trustworthy type. Not the one with tattoos and piercing. Oh, and I love the picture of the child flipping the bird.
psychokitty and Richard Gauvreau. You both made the points that I was going to make. One more thing to think about is where the line should be drawn between acceptable and unacceptable body mods. My Grandmother has pierced ears and she most certainly is not a monster but it is a modification, it's just acceptable in the eyes of the populace. Massive body tattoos are commonplace in pacific island cultures and these places are some of the most peaceful on earth. Best not to judge a book by its cover or you might find that you've missed out on a lot of quality reading. Body mods are not for me but lets face it a lot of people have a few piercings and tattoos and this doesn't make them bad people. I don't see any tattoos on George Bush or Barack Obama, this certainly doesn't make them good people.
Stephen King will like these tattoos and be inspire by them, I am sure! and write a story where tattoos start to posses bodies.... and maybe is this what is happening, who knows. Or maybe not. These tattoos are beautiful or ugly depends on your point of vue of what is beautiful or not. Some people like and feel like spiders, eyes, mouths..., that's ok, they are a sort of mirror of the world we are living, a sort of picture, and we really live in a world where many things are happening, and by the way what is the definition of what is monstrosity? Dali is considered a god and surely he was a genius but if you look at his art you will see a lot of monstrosity in his pictures. What is the difference between Mr. Dali and those tattoos? Not many. I have nothing against people with tattoos, you want to express something with your body? It is ok. I am against true ugliness, true monstrosity, those monsters with ties and Pierre Cardin clothes that eat canapes in their offices or in meetings (you know that I am talking of the UN members and many others) and do nothing to take care of this planet. These are real monsters and they are repulsive and so ugly and very dangerous. (They have maybe tattoos in their brains... who knows...)
