The white-washed version of the Thanksgiving holiday you were told in school isn't anywhere close to the true, blood-spattered story of disease, slavery and genocide.

Ah, yes... I remember it well.

So sang Maurice Chevalier anyway and in the song stylings of another man, the famous Mr. Hope, we have "Thanks, for the memories." Without propaganda's rewriting of our collective history, where would our egos be?

Nice summary but...

"We need to learn our true history so it won't ever be repeated. This thanksgiving, when you gather with your loved ones to thank your creator for all your blessings, think about the people who only wanted to live their lives and raise their families."

The problem is, participating in this ritual IS part and parcel of repeating the same genocidal history. Today American families sit down to give thanks for successfully slaughtering some 2-3 million Iraqis.

We know the true history and it's being repeated as we speak - on the Palestinians. Knowing it does no good if the PTB continue to blabber the lies. Organizing boycotts of such worthless observances is all that will counter those who continue to push these lies. Teach your children FIRST. Tell them to inform other kids of their age. It starts with the youth.

Well...

I don't remember anyone 'giving thanks' on TurkeyDay, other than the usual blah, blah, blah before eating, but maybe other families here in the States are more 'observant' on this holiest of holy days? It's sort of like Xmas, or is it Black Friday, Cyber Monday, New Years or whatever it's called, isn't it just when various family members sit together to watch Hallmark movies? Maybe there was some 'meaning' to the yearly programming schedule at some point, but that wrapper seems to have been discarded long, long ago.
